I thought this was an interesting topic worth thinking about. I might chime in later on. I'm not going to lie and say I know alot about politics when I dont, That's why I tend to stay away from the discussions.
Use the caught ones as an example. Torture them. Yes its inhumane but so is bombing innocents. Cut thier toes off make them stay awake(incerdibley effective) till they denounce thier cause and then burn them alive. Make it unthinkable to try something like that. And thats trying to clean up what I really think.
Torturing them is wrong, especially any caught in the US. we have a fundamental belief in our system of laws which forbids us to torture people, if we stoup to the low of tormenting them, than we are as low as the terrorist, in fact than we would become the terrorist we are trying to defeat. also by not torturing any of them, even the ones captured overseas, we aren't going to anger as many Muslims. thus there won't be as many joining their cause. its also lessens the chance of terrorist capturing and torturing Americans.as for a way to stoping terrorism. I think domestically the US has been doing a good job. keep doing whats been going on, and increase immigration reform. internationally, the US needs to quell Iraq, and possibly sit down with Iran and discuss their nuclear weapons program. even if nothing gets done, it would show the average muslim that the US isn't just this evil country who bombs everyone. The Palastinian-Isreali stuff will never end until Isreal is distroied.
No matter what we do we are not going to change minds in the middle east. It won't happen. We can be diplomatic and do all the right things and it won't matter. It's a waste of time. What Clangus said is utterly ridiculous and sad. We just need to keep what we are doing now, it's working. Break down the government red tape and take them down. We don't need wars, torture or anything like that to protect this country. Our national security is getting a great percentage of these people.
Send in Chuck Norris.Or find the attackers family and torture them until the perpetrator comes clean....Then torture him and his family, Just kidding, if you did get him/her put them in jail.
Or get out of the supposed "terrorist" country and push your "democracy" to someone else, aka what we did during all the good times in American History.

Why don't you "leave" the country if you hate it so much.

Or is that right revoked?
If you like Communism so much, why don't you move to China? You have the right to criticize as much as you want, but if you don't like the government here, move somewhere else.

I still support the war, and the effort over there though. When we capture theses losers, take them and the murderers, rapists, etc. put them all on a useless island, and blow the sh*t up with a nuclear bomb. :winkglasses:

First off, we have to try to stop their brainwashing television which sparks terrorism in the minds of little kids. I watched this special on 'Glenn Beck' (one of my favorite shows) and it was showing tv shows they watch over in Iran. There was a cartoon that showed jews as the devil and actual suicide bombers blowing them selves up...keep in mind this is a cartoon that little kids are watching over there. So they are basically learning that becoming a suicide bomber/terrorist etc is a way of life and is good.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pinoy Balla @ Nov 4 2006, 10:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I like Clangus post it will probably scare some terroists away.</div>Actually, doing that and torturing people would have quite the opposite effect. As redneck pointed out, which is completely true, if we start torturing people on national and international TV for people to see, it will cause an outrage. More terrorists will think "look at this, they are out to get us," and will more than likely band together to attack America and it's way of life. Also, as he also pointed out, that would make us as America just as bad as the terrorists that do not like the American way of life. Maybe most important though, its just not right to torture people. If you have ever met someone that was tortured, you would know how messed up in the head that can make a person. It is seriously something that would stick with that person for the rest of their lives.
There is no way to stop terrorism. To stop Muslim extremists. How can you stop something you can't see? Muslim extremists haven't even hit the USA like they have other countries. I mean sure, 9/11, but we don't live in fear of every day suicide bombers, we aren't as worried with stuff like that because it basically doesn't happen over here. Once it starts, there is no way of stopping it. Suicide bombers are cheap, easy to use, and very efficient. When these bombers think that they get some kind of great reward for doing this, and they want to do it, how can you stop them? There is no way to stop terrorism. You can just slow it down.
