Mainly to the guy who doesn't post here anymore who always says he was fat and lazy, (guess who that is) and for being a little right about trading him in the 1st place. Don't take this too seriously. I'm loving our run so far and also enjoying watching Dubi leading CBJ. Just having some fun. Don't go all crazy on me.
Jesus Christ enough with this "I wish we had Dubi" stuff. Guess what...WE HAD HIM. We had him for about 4 playoff runs and he was the epitome of inconsistent. Went games without even hitting anybody. The trade lit a fire under him and woke him up. Happy for him. But you're dreaming if you think he'd be playing like this here because he already was here, and he didnt. He also scored all of 2 goals last season in Columbus in 30 games...imagine if he did that here? Trade Dubi threads would dominate the board.
Even though I disagree I won't get into it. Just trying to get a rise out some on this day in between games for us and have some fun with you. Mission accomplished. And at least a few of you finally responded to one of my posts lol.
I didnt really agree with the fat and lazy stuff but he was just so inconsistent that he booked his own ticket out of town. Like I said I'm happy hes playing well in CBJ and he was one of my favorite players for awhile but we had him for a good long time and it was no longer working out. I also said at the beginning of the playoffs I'd rather see Pitt than CBJ if we move on. I think we can beat both of them but CBJ is going to absolutely come after us physically and try to wear us down. Dubinsky is a big part of that. He'll be fired up to no end for that series and it will get real chippy I'm sure.
I agree with you last point Prod. I think we'd beat either as well, but I think I rather play Pitt and no goalie than CBJ and their physical pounding style. Although if we get through Philly, and CBJ, there would be no better setup to face Boston, another physical pounding team.
This is true, but I think 2 series playing like that will take it's toll on us. Boston is built to play series after series like that, we aren't. We've shown we can do it when needed, but to do it for potentially 21 games in a row will be very tough.
I agree. Should be no excuse if we don't beat Philly. Every series is tough, but I also think CBJ would be a harder match up. We've transformed into a more skating team and while I'm a little surprised how well we've held up to Philly's physical play, I don't how many series we can withstand that before wearing down. CBJ is also much like we were 2 years ago. They're hard to play against. Would rather face Pitt, but will happy to play anyone.
Yeah, I agree rather play Pitt. BUT this Philly series is a long way from over still, so we'll see how that plays out. You know I think we are going 7 against the Flyers, which means toss-up. Bigger picture, there really is no excuse for us not to make the ECF. We are the best of the 4 Met teams from top to bottom, no doubt in my mind. And if we get Kreider back sometime in round 2 that helps even more.
Getting Kreider back would make me feel much better about a CBJ matchup. But like was said above, this Philly series is far from over.
62 youre right there are a lot of similarities between CBJ and us from last year in terms of style of play and the makeup of the team. One glaring difference though...Hank vs. Bob. Bob is another guy who still hasnt seemed to grasp that the playoffs are a completely different animal. Pitt is lucky they've seen Nabokov and Bob the past 2 first rounds.
Agreed. Bob hasn't looked great in the playoffs. He's made some great saves, but then looks shaky at times. Philly series is far from over and logic says 7 games, but I just think we are better and picked the Rangers in 6. Have to stay with that. Emery or Mason doesn't really matter to me. It's not like Mason is Ken Dryden.
I will be interested to see how Mason plays tomorrow night. On the one hand he is better than Emery. On the other hand he hasn't really played in 13 days. Plus he has very little playoff experience, where Emery has a lot. Interesting to see how he plays.
Happy Dubinsky is playing well, I have always liked him as have most Ranger fans. Lets not give him his Conn Smythe just yet though
While I will agree that in order to get something you had to give something back and Dubi's bad season with his contract was the asset that was given up. I always liked Dubi and thought he got the shaft by certain people. One bad season and he is lazy and doesn't give a shit blah blah blah. The kid is a very good physical two way forward, imagine if they gave DZerro in that trade instead of Dubi like I wanted....oh well. Good for Dubi helping us by at least making it a series.
Al, I think it is way overdo that the Rangers help themselves in this series. In Game 5 Blue Jackets at Pens: Bob is standing on his head vs Pens. 1-1 after two periods. Bob has stopped 35 shots through 2 periods. Philly cheap shots and Rangers don't storm Mason. What are they playing...... Polite Hockey. Nash does not know how to MASH. He's a pacifist. Just what the Rangers need. LOL
I have flipped in this series. Started by rooting for the BJ's. Now that they got it to 2-2 I have flipped and am rooting for the Pens. I truly think that team isn't anything special. Crosby, Malkin, Kunitz, and Neal are very good. They have a few other decent forwards like Jokinen, Goc, Sutter, and Stempniak but they don't have the forward depth they have in the past. Their D has good offensive ability, but is very questionable on D. And we all know MAF is terrible in the playoffs. So I want the Pens to win now. And I certainly want the Pens to win tonight for sure. CBJ will most likely win game 6 at home, so let the Pens win tonight which should mean 7 games in that series.
Pitt pretty much dominated tonight to take a 3-2 lead. Think we have a very strong chance to see 7 in that series. CBL should be rocking for game 6 Monday night.
