I'm happy the Bulls won. But wow, how many calls went in the team's favor down the stretch? I used to think the refs favored home teams in the playoffs. I now think the calls just go in favor of a long series.
Mike Dunleavy scores 35 to help drop Wiz, give Bulls new life Mike Dunleavy was making so many 3-pointers the Washington Wizards overguarded him at the arc and let him drive for a three-point play instead. The points were coming so easily Bradley Beal guaranteed at halftime Dunleavy wouldn't score again -- and then clobbered the Chicago Bulls veteran during a 3-point attempt during the third quarter. The ball went in anyway, and Dunleavy completed a four-point play. "He was in the zone, man," Beal said. "I guess the hoop looked like an ocean to him." The Bulls needed a go-to guy after their offensive struggles put them in a 2-0 hole in their Eastern Conference first round series. For one night, at least, they found him. Dunleavy scored 35 points, one short of his career-high, and Jimmy Butler hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 24 seconds remaining Friday for a 100-97 Game 3 win. Offensive struggles? No doubt. But the Bulls gave up 102, 101, and 100 points in the 3 games. I sense a pattern. 99 next game? (100+ isn't exactly Bulls' defense type points allowed)
Right. We can complain about offense all we want but the Bulls are not capable of scoring in the 100s consistently. The Bulls have to find a way to hold Washington in the 80s or this series is done.
Yea! The Bulls won a game! Dunleavy earned his $3.2mil right freakin' there. Hope the Bulls win another.
Yes, its surprising how relatively lousy the defense has been. The Bulls have not looked like a dominant defensive unit in this series.
