When New Jersey played the Toronto Raptors, Bostjan Nachbar impressed me alot. I thought he played great. Last year, he would barely see minutes with NJ and NOK. I think he had around 14 points. He was the difference in the game vs. Toronto. I know it has just been 2 games but if Nachbar keeps this up, he could win Most Improved Player this year. What do you guys think?

If he gets the minutes and puts up the numbers he has in the preseason and these first two games. Well then you could here him as a strong canidate for most improved player

First of all wolverine, from what I can remember he got 15-20 mpg with the Hornets, and he even began starting games for them last year (before he was traded). He is a solid bench player though, he played excellent both times vs. Boston in preseason, and he's always been a big SF that can shoot the ball. He's physical too. I like him, but he's not going to even be a candidate for Most Improved.

I think he plays behind RJ, and that there will be more deserving candidates in the League. I agree though, he did impress me. He's a good shooter, and he showed me that he has some athleticism, and driving skill in him.

Eh... I'm not positive that he'll win the MIP, but he can try to be a close runner-up. However, there are so many other players who will play better than they did last season that you can't really claim anyone is a candidate just yet.

Exactly. If the award was given out today, Nachbar wouldn't even be talked about. It would go to Barbosa for sure, plus you have guys like Monta Ellis, Al Jefferson, Nazr Mohammed, Luke Walton, Andrew Bynum, Ronny Turiaf, Kevin Martin, etc. There are plenty more that are way ahead of Nachbar.

Well, so far Hakim Warrick and Andrew Bynum have MIP on lock.

Um... no they don't. If the award was to be given today, it would no doubt go to Leandro Barbosa. Needless to say, Warrick is going very good now, but not as good when Pau and Swift come back. Bynum will find himself near the end of the bench once Kwame and Mihm return as well. Barbosa has minutes secured all year long.

Theres no way Stro will start over Hakim if Hakim keeps playing like this.Hakim: 19.3ppg 8rpg 2.7apg 51%fgBarbosa: 19.0ppg 4.5rpg 4.5apg 41%fgIts close, but I think Hakim would edge it. Then again, Barbosa is getting a steal and a half. But your talking about Hakim and Bynum not getting minutes, Barbosa has to play with Nash, Bell, and Banks.

Barbosa will see consistent minutes like you said, and I think Warrick could possibly earn himself alot of minutes, and possibly a starting position when Pau comes back. Reason being, Stromile Swift, has NOT proven himself yet in the NBA. He's another guy that is just athletic as anyone, but he can't seem to develop some good basketball post moves..It's to bad LA has Mihm and Kwame coming back soon; but it's all part of his transition into the NBA. Bynum's day will come soon though, you can't keep him on the bench for long, he's improve rapidly.

Antoine Wright has a shot at winning most improved now that Jefferson is out of the line up and he might be starting for the next month.
