I tend to side with the Rockets on this one. Even if you have a beef, you just won. The scoreboard is all the talk you need.

Next time, walk away. Just walk away.

I kid of course in my OP, but I'm curious to actually know what was said...Mo was all smiles and it makes me wonder if the rook had said something to him out there on the floor to prompt a follow-up discussion. Neither side have actually 'said' anything about what was said or what Mo was doing...Houston fans/reporters assume it was negative. It could have been legit praise too "good game kid" sorta thing...that Houston reacted to in a defeat-fueled emotional moment. Dunno.

Bottom line is the two teams have been battling through 4 games. I would be pissed as a fan if my home team didn't take it negatively. It's the heat of the moment it shows they care.

Bro, you are a good fan. Just wanted to say thanks for showing us that not all Houston fans are douches. Mad RESPECT and repped.

I just find it crazy that the ONE guy on either side who has the best story gets ripped on by one of our vets. This kid comes out of the D-League and fucking KILLS us with shot after shot after shot and then cooly hits three free throws. Who cares what he says on the court. That kid should be respected by everyone.

I'm more than a little embarrassed for Mo.

Shouldn't have happened. We ought to win with class.

Something tells me Mo won't do that again. Watching the replay it looked like Aldridge was just finding out what happened right before his post-game interview. He didn't look very happy about it.

It's an emotional game, you get caught up in it, the whole thing lasted about 3 seconds, but it still shouldn't happen.

Did Mo "rip on" him? What was said?

Maybe they just had a beef? Maybe it was the rookie taunting Mo earlier, and Mo went over to say "scoreboard"? That seems likely.

Even though I agree it would have been better for the vet Mo to let it ride and do his talking on the court in the next game, I just can't get overly worked up over it. No need to be overly protective of the rookie's delicate sensibilities, especially IF he was talking shit. He's a man now. He can handle it.

It's the playoffs. Emotions are high. In the old days, there would have been a fight by now.

    There's still time. ;)

The only thing that troubles me about the confrontation was a reminder of the Lakers vs. Blazers series in 2000. The moment after Portland just won in L.A. and they were celebrating like school girls immediately after. Phil Jackson made a comment "They looked like jackals laughing off the court".

That series of events fueled the Lakers to take game 3 and game 4. There is no need to give the other team fuel to get up for the next game. We should smash their hearts out and do it like an assassin.

So if Kevin Garnett pulled some shit on the court, we would be upset with our own player if he said something to Garnett about it after the game? Or do we only chastise our player and protect the delicate sensibilities of opposing rookies who are a feel-good story, regarless of what the facts may be?

Honestly, a player walking up to to an opposing player and saying something to him in the midst of a very contentious series seems like an absolutely non story to me. :dunno:

Unless it incites that player to go off and kill us in the next game. That would suck. :)

I have no idea about this specific incident, but as a player, I am totally impressed with Daniels.

Despite my sort of 'devil's advocacy', I do agree with this. Mo should have walked off the court and gotten even on the court in Game 5. I hope poking the bear (or Rockette in this case) doesn't come back to haunt us.

Anyone remember a certain comment by Parsons relating to Batum for example? Yeah, like that.

Maybe Blazer fans just want their players to be better than average, want them to be above this petty garbage. Just like I want Blazer fans to be better than other fans around the league. As much as I agreed with them, I was hugely disappointed with the fans chanting "BS" and "these refs suck" during last night's game. I hold our team and our fans to a higher standard, and expect better than I would expect from other franchises.
