    He could have had him on the Lakers, though. Stern blocked the trade with New Orleans that would have sent Paul to the Lakers.

    Under NBA constitution, Sterling has 30 days to pay fine. If not, that in itself is grounds for his removal by board.

    It was mentioned on one of the ESPN shows that the Bylaws that are now online on the NBA's site have a rule in there that if Sterling doesn't pay in 30 days the team then Silver can oust Sterling as the owner.

    I wonder when Rubio will be thrown out of the league for his racist comments about Mexicans, or does that not count cause it wasn't black people?

    After all, there is apparently no room in the NBA for racism....according to most of the players and media

    Rubio's joke was in poor taste and racist, but his comments do not show any deep-seeded animus toward Mexicans. Further, Rubio's racism isn't felt from a structural level like Sterling's and he doesn't have a history of racism either. Not the same at all.

    My fault if you were joking, it's hard to tell sarcasm on the net sometimes.

    Actually the biggest reason is Rubio's joke didn't cost the NBA close to a billion dollars. The Clippers are losing sponsors right and left and some of those sponsors also sponsor other teams or the NBA as a whole. The NBA heard from many entities that they would not continue paying money unless swift action was taken.

    If Rubio owned a team he would be out probably as well so yes there is a bit of a double standard. There are in a lot of areas in life though.

    I get what your saying with the double standard and all but the big thing is its the owner of a team not an employee of the team. Its very different for a CEO of a company to be caught in a scandal then for a regular employee to be caught in a scandal.
