My main worry last season was that we didn't have any shotblockers. We now have 3 legit shotblockers. Turiaf is averaging 2 blocks in 17 minutes. That's insane. So what are we missing? PG defender is not there but with turiaf/bynum there teams won't have an easy time penetrating. Our team defense has also been average even though I blame Phil jackson for that. In the sonics game we were getiing torched and phil kept Rado/cook in there.

I really hate the way Cook play on defense...........I find him lazy. :thumbdn1: I think we got the right mix of players to be a good team, the challenge is for the role players to produce night in and night out. It will be interesting how Phil distribute the minutes when we get everybody healthy. :g:

You guys are missing a 3rd option. All duos have some games where neither are really clicking, and what seperated championship teams from playoff teams is the fact that the role players can step up big. Specifically every team needs that one other player who can do some of the scoring while the big 2 are in a slump. I don't see Smush, Turiaf, Brown, or the rest as that player yet.

A point guard definitely. They could probably get what they need in a package with Mihm and Parker. They just need a savvy veteran who can come in and play good defense and have the Ron Harper type of role. They don't need a superstar, because in a year or two Farmar will take over the reigns.

From 1988(rookie season) to 1994, he played on the Bulls and averaged around 12.5 points a game. After the 1994 season he went to the Magic. In the latter years, the 96, 97, and 98 championships, they had Toni Kukoc. From 94 to 98 he averaged around 13.25 points a game. Pretty good 3rd options in my book.

The team definitely needs a better point guard, we could play Sasha but we don't want to blow the competition out every night.

Smush, Vlad and Kwame are all capable of averaging 9-15 pts. Our backcourt defense (point guard) needs improvement, it always throws our team off balance, we need consistency on defense............I?m not really worried about our offense because with a good defense we?ll be able to stay with teams in case we go on a slump on offense.

He was just an amazing rebounder and always hustled(Ronny Turiaf is our Rodman) the Bull's 3rd option was Horace Grant like someone already said.

We are big and our bench is showing efffort. Bynum is playing I think we need is someone that is better than Mihm downlow. Mihm sometimes doesn't play agressive. I would like to see Bynum start over him this year. Mihm is better than some 2nd units centers and woudl be a nice fit

Right at this point of the season they don't have a 3rd option. When Kwame Brown is back and healthy he probably won't be the 3rd option because it will take him time to get used to playing. Andrew Bynum has been promising but still isn't consistent at a 3rd option level and still is inexperianced. as he gains more confidence in himself, phil jackson and the rest of the lakers will gain more confidence in him. SO for now, I will have to go with Luke Walton. Greg anthony mentioned he thinks Luke walton will be the x-factor for the Lakers this year. I kinda agree with him. He's a good passer who's a extremely smart player and is quick off the dribble. he improved his jumpshot and 3-point shooting and he can score around double digits if needed to. He'll be a factor in order for the lakers to do successful in the playoffs.
