I honestly don't know really, last couple years i felt fairly confident in game 7s but something about this one doesn't feel right, I'm not sure, im not confident in the way lundy has been playing, Nash isn't scoring. I dont know how PP hasn't been as good as it was first two games.... In my thoughts i honestly feel we should have already won this series in 5, couple bounces didn't go our way and now we are in game 7. I hope that we win game 7 as i want to see us vs PITT to see where we stand and it would be extremely dissapointing if we didn't, but im not confident. :rays::
0-20 on the PP. Needs to change tonight. Nash 0 goals. Needs to change tonight. McDonagh needs to play much better tonight. Hank needs to be much better tonight. No stupid penalties from anyone, especially Pouliot, tonight. I don't like the way last night went, and the potential carry over to tonight. That concerns me. I also don't like this oh game 7 at MSG we'll take care of business feeling. That concerns me as well. At some point you will go to that well and it won't be there. Can't just rely on game 7 magic...game 7 MSG magic...to get a win and move on. A lot of things concern me about tonight. Not saying we won't win, but a lot of things do concern me. Most of all the way we played last night concerns me as it relates to tonight. We need to totally wipe the slate clean, and that isn't easy to do one night later, AND you know Philly is loaded with confidence after last night...how can they not be. They will come out ready to go, and totally full of themselves, especially Giroux and Simmonds who have really got it going now. Pressure is on us being the fav and the home team. 1st goal for us is huge really. We fall behind again and it could be trouble. I agree with Sleeps that in reality we should have finished this in 5 based on the play in the series up to this point, last night was the first time I thought Philly out played us all series, and that concerns me. They are trending up and we are trending down. Not a great place to be heading into game 7. We'll see how it all plays out tonight. I am hopeful, but a little concerned. HUGE game. It would be a total epic fail if we lose this series ater a 3-2 lead, and really controlling the play for much of the first 5 games...epic fail.
And game 1 against the Pens is slated for Friday, so whichever team wins tonight is already behind the 8 ball. That showing last night, or lack of showing last night, was huge. Not only can we clearly lose this series now, it makes the Pitt series much more difficult since game 1, with 3 games in 4 days, will be very tough for us or Philly. Huge edge Pens game 1. I said yesterday if I am Pitt I was rooting for the Rangers in 7, and I think that is what they are doing. Wanted 7. Rather play us since Philly owns them.
BTW...since it was 3-0 us in game 5, they have outscored us 6-2 (if you take out empty net goals). And if you count Hags goal last night as total garbage time, it is 6-1. Again to me this clearly shows they have all the MO right now. We need to come out fast and hard and take that away early. Crowd or no crowd, a slow start and we could be in big trouble. Need to take it to them from the first second of the game if we want to win. Show them this is not game 6.
In 13 hours we know...do we have another game to play in 2 days. OR will we be packing our bags, see you in 5 months. Crazy how it has come down to that...AGAIN...considering how this series started.
It is incredibly frustrating to watch this year after year. I do wish Nash would pan out, but it seems like he needs that number 1 center to rely on, so much so that he looks lost in the intensity of playoff hockey. Whether this team wins tonight or not, i've had the state of mind that whatever happened this year playoff wise was a bonus, with the change of coaching and personal he had to use i am happy with the team this year. A rough start and we still finished 2nd in our division. As far as this year going further we are playing with house money in the playoffs, we shouldnt feel pressure those spot lights are on Boston and Pittsburgh(MAF). This team HAS enough to continue this march forward for immortality but they need to want it more then life itself, which is where we find ourselves today.
Nash will pan out...out the door if he doesn't produce tonight. He just doesn't have that extra it. That inner drive that makes you go through a wall to win in the playoffs. I standby my feeling that is the case with Nash. Said it for a while now. He just doesn't have that special IT that makes someone with his god given skills great.
THIS JUST IN...Steve Mason is GOD. If you read and listen to the radio and watch TV you would think that. He is a GOD. Game 5 did not happen. He is the best in the world. Unbeatable. Best ever. A living god...STEVE MASON. I hope the Rangers are watching all of this today. Listening to all of this today. If that doesn't give them extra motivation I don't know what will. Mason is a god. Flyers are rolling. Rangers are mud. The turning point of that game last night was the awful Pouliot penalty, not Mason making a handful of good saves. The Flyers were on the ropes, we were on the come, dumb penalty and a PPG later and they settled down and the rest was history. BUT remember this...STEVE MASON IS A GOD.
Against Washington and Ottawa you could see they were a little defeated after losing game 6, and while the Rangers will not roll over, i dont know if they can pull it together with such a quick turnaround. Hopefully but i just have a negative feeling about this one. If the pp can contribute and they keep Philly to the outside they have a good shot. We'll see.
I'm absolutely on board, but who do you sit Strahlman or Moore, both have been mediocre to invisible. Strahlman is so damn soft, he just relies on positioning.
Will never be Stralman. For better or worse AV loves him, and it is reflected in the mpg he plays. Would be Moore, but I doubt that happens in game 7.
I am hoping for a win. While watching yesterday's game, I was telling friends that this board prolly is jumping...I WAS NOT WRONG. Isn't it a shame that I am more positive about how this board reacts than how this Ranger team plays. GOOD LUCK RANGERS. BTW. YES. The Rangers win in OT 3-2 (This team loves ripping my guts) LOL
