Little insulting there Sleepy. I'm delusional. Who said anything about a hat trick every game. How about a single goal in a series, let alone a game. Where did the Cally stuff come from? I was on the side that said he had to go. The line is playing well because of #26. Would love to know your definition of "beast", because it is not Nash. Maybe when he got to hang at the blue line with CBJ he was. Not with us. You must be sleeping when the games are on. WAKE UP!! At least he drove the net tonight a few times. I guess that or almost scoring qualifies as beast for you. Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
I liked the Nash trade too but the postseason stats don't lie, regular season & Olympics mean nothing when you're getting paid $8 mil a year, the postseason is his time to shine. I'd be happy with a late garbage goal or even an empty netter from the guy. Nash has to pull his head out, stop cringing and play hockey.
1962, my apologies i didnt wan't to come out as offensive, i believe i got you mixed up with somebody else who said they would rather have cally dubi and AA still. Sorry, As for nash yes its a bit dissappointing to say the least but im not giving up yet on him, i think the main concern is that he is getting paid 8 million and for a 8 million player he should be able to carry the team, so far i dont think he is able to carry the team, hopefully that changes in the future as it would put us in a better position if he put the team on his back. it would be extremely dissapointing if we lose game 7 and he is scoreless, but then again if he is scoreless and we win is better then he scores 3 and we lose. ! i would really like to see a series vs PITT to see where he stands
No problem Sleeps. I think we're all emotional right now as it is crunch time. I have always been a huge Dubi fan, maybe the biggest on this board, so you might have me partially mixed with some others. I absolutely was for trading Cally. That said, I never wanted the Nash trade and would deal him right now for Dubi straight up. That would be a different conversation though. We're all pulling for Nash to be that beast but I don't see it and never did. Extremely talented but talent doesn't automatically mean great. Funny though, while most are killing him now, I give him credit last night for trying to bull his way to the net. The results weren't there but maybe that's a good sign. I'm looking to St. Louis and Richards tonight to lead the way. They have done it before. If Nash turns it on, all the better. Sorry for reacting to you so rudely. Probably the 1st time I've done that on this board. We can disagree respectfully, which is what I should have done. My apologies.
Heck I am not asking the guy to carry the team. How about be relevant out there and score at least one goal every other night in these important games or get some assists. With Kreider out they desperately needed him to have a big series. Instead he provides nothing. He plays so damn docile out there, you would think he was a small guy. He is the size of Eric Lindros but plays like one of our old smurfs. At least those guys actually produced some goals.
I just have to say it...how can ANYONE even try and defend Nash right now? Look, I am not saying he is the only one with issues (McDonagh has struggled, Pouliot has struggled, and a few others), but come on now the guy has ZERO goals in 6 games. Maybe a handful of good chances even. His will has not been imposed on any game. He is making 7.8 mill per season to be a huge difference maker. Period end of story. There is no way to defend him. 18 playoff games as a Rangers with 1 goal. 22 playoff games overall with 2 goals. Speaks for itself really.
i am the only one to defend him, and thats fine, i do not consider the previous years his fault, im looking at him this year, im looking at it open minded, that this is his 2nd time in the playoffs (not counting CBJ didnt watch that series) I am juding him from AV system. I am not giving up YET. But he needs to score and score soon.
For the record, I am not giving up either. We need him so no point to give up. All I am saying is that at the present moment it is real difficult to even try and defend him.
