A lot of posters over the years (myself not included) have wanted to see D'Antoni coach the Blazers. Is Stotts coaching for his job?
I actually think Mike D'Antoni would do pretty well in Portland the way the team is constructed but Stotts does have the Blazers playing well right now.
If only he'd had a healthy Steve Nash. Against us late in the season, Nash looked great, dishing out assists. Let's look it up. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/n/nashst01/gamelog/2014 Wow. That was Nash's best game all season (see GmSc and +/-). Edit: Click the yellow box, Advanced Game Log, and check out that game's ORtg. And vs. Houston a week later.
Stotts hasn't really done anything to lose his job. I would love to see the man with another quality bench player or two.
D'Antoni would have been better coaching the Blazers this stint. But no, I have no interest in releasing Stotts for him.
Stotts has done enough to guarantee his job. At least through his work in the playoffs. It is easy to look at another coach and wonder what they do.
On another front L@kers declare they are interested in Thibodeau. Sure, no problem. Just go get him. After all, you are the @#$#%# L@kers. I'm sure Chicago will just hand him over. Interesting contrast though from Mike D.
The Lakers have no direction... They don't have the pieces to make Thibodeau a successful coach. Unless they have the most perfect offseason ever they're just gonna have to ride this bitch out until Kobe retires then actually build the team around a young player.
Holy shit! Who would even consider this hack over Stotts?! Show of hands... I want to know the people I need to put on ignore
