Regardless where the Blazers end up, I love how exciting the first round of the playoffs gone down.

Kudos on your first playoffs silver, maybe you ain't as bad as that slim ball stern.

I also appreciate him doing what Stern simply didn't have the balls to do.

For what? The refs still suck as much dick as ever.

And it took no balls to come down hard on Sterling. It would have took balls to defend free speech.

I think we should give Silver more than a year before we judge his leadership. I will say one thing about that man. That is one ugly mofo. I mean I am ugly. But that guy is UGLY for no reason at all.

The obvious control of the games's outcomes by the refs is more blatant than it ever was under Stern. The statistical improbability of so many overtime games is akin to everyone on this board winning the Megabucks lottery in the same year. While exciting to watch so many close finishes, it leaves a hollow feeling knowing that the lesser teams may be gifted wins, and the best team may not have a chance in hell of being Champions.

So far Silver represents fixed games, a distrust of free market economies, and a seething hate of Freedom Of Speech. Probably a gun-control nut too. He's quick on the draw, I'll give him that much.

The principal of free speech still applies regardless of the context. And these weren't even comments Sterling made publically, they were recorded without his knowledge.

But ok, if they're going to ban him for having some racist thoughts, now we have to ban everyone who has racist thoughts, or any other kind of politically incorrect view. Jay-Z is wearing a medallion from a blatantly racist organization. Where are the calls to ban him from the NBA? Unless this punishment is applied equally, it's nothing to be applauded. Adam Silver is simply a penis-headed coward who cowed down to mob perception.

This is so true. He now needs to become tough on stupidity otherwise it will just look like a petty agenda and the continuance of historical double standards in the NBA.

    Meet the new boss.

    Same as the old boss.

With one trivial exception: Stern's NBA refs favored certain players and teams for percieived ratings advantages. Silver's NBA refs appear to be affecting games to keep the scores close until the end, for anticipated ratings advantages.

In last night's Blazers game for example, there is no denying that the refs assisted the Rockettes during their second quarter 'domination' of the Blazers. Mission accomplished so the refs could just call the game relatively evenly after that, until the last three minutes when they had to take over to assure the home town victory and a game six. Nothing new to see here. Move along.

By making this thread you are basically saying Silver is fixing the playoffs

Advice to Silver: Put on 60 pounds. No more skinny geek. And drop the gay mannerisms. To get respect, look like a tall version of Stern. Oh yeah, and grow some hair or buy a toupeƩ. If it won't grow or stick on, then grow a goatee.

I don't think Silver cares who wins. No amount of reffing is going to help the Flakers or Celtics anyway.

I think he wants close, exciting games and matchups. He's getting that.

It's an improvement over Stern at least. For now.
