Official "Give Barton some minutes" thread

That's not true. I don't mind Mo playing, but I think Terry gives him too long of a leash. Sometimes it's obvious that he's off and yet Terry just keeps playing him. I'm merely saying that if Mo isn't on in game six, we should try Barton.

 

Okay, glad you cleared that up then... I guess I misunderstood you then.

 

Yeah...its just that he's clutching his knee, etc. You know hes hurt, but he still blows by Mo.

MO is hurt, that's why, he's over there icing/rubbing his knee during his bench time and time-outs.

I do think we need to play him less. But I am not so sure that this next game is the right time? IDK....

 

I'll come out and say I do not want Mo to play at all. He almost always does more bad than good.

 

The thing is, the guy can get hot. He's kinda like Wes, but without the defensive intensity or skill. When Wes or Mo get hot, we need to ride them like fucking Zoro. But if Mo is cold, or if he's making a lot of stupid passes, Terry should take him out and put in Will or CJ or even Earl. Someone else. Just as quickly as Mo can get hot, he can get ice cold and completely fuck us over. Dorell Wright is the same way.

 

I could see, at the end of the 1st quarter..."Will, T-rob come here. 2:30 to go I want you two to RUN RUN RUN. If you arn't sprinting for every second you are out there I will put you back on the bench. I want you two playing 2-man game looking for the wide open shooters on the outside (keep Dame and Wes out there with them). I want Lob City or simply beat your man back up the court to the rim. Take it hard at them and throw it down. On Defensive...Like glue. Fight over the pick, keep in your stance and keep them in front of you...FAST FEET. BOTH of you, CRASH THE BOARDS on D and O. Every shot I want you in there fighting for it. Now go!"

 

I'd rather see Barton playing than Wright...

 

Aldridge is averaging 3.2 blocks per game in the series.

 

I agree with Nate on this one. I think Mo will be Good Mo in game 6, but if he isn't, pull him and give Barton a couple. Barton is a much better defender than Mo or CJ and can add that Thomas Robinson energy the team needs at times. If Barton flounders, then pull him and do something else. I could easily see him stepping up though. He loves big games.

 

We let Jeremy Lin beat us last night. Jeremy Lin. Why? Because Mo can't defend an ottoman. Sure, offense is good. And sometimes Mo is on. But sometimes you need to stop a hot hand, and at least disrupt their flow. I think Barton would have given us a better chance at that than Mo did. Especially since Mo wasn't even 'on'. And don't get me started on Wright. Can someone smarter than me tell me why Wright got so many minutes? He was the worst player in the building in the first half. Where was TRob when we needed him?

 

And there was a middle school girls junior varsity team in attendance.

 

Oh, and if Mo tries to out-flop the Rockets again in game 6, I will actively lobby for him to be pelted with vegetables (organic, of course), publicly ridiculed, and traded. Not necessarily in that order.

 

We are going to have to get Barton some minutes, or a few more bench players, if we keep playing our starters 30 plus minutes a game. Theyll be burned out by the end of the series.

 

Yeah, and I'm not even talking 15 minutes. I'm talking like 5 where he comes in, pushes the ball, and attacks the rim. I think he could jolt the Rockets a bit because he plays unlike any of our other wings.

 

Not to mention he has a nose for the ball inside and might draw a foul or two from the Houston big guys because they aren't used to his motion. Not sure Stotts will take the chance though. More likely he goes all in with more starter minutes.

 

Yeah, I could see the starters getting 40+ but he'll still give Mo his 20+.

 

Mo will win the next game and bounce back, then everyone will sing his praises. He's not a pt guard, he's a volume shooting 6 man, our new version of Jamal Crawford. Mo gets 15 pts and LA gets 20 last game and we win by 10.

 

Since we all know Mo will get his 20+ minutes, I'm counting on him having a better game at home.

 

I think we all understand that he's a volume shooter, which is why I think some of us would like to see him sit if he's not hitting shots.

 

I bet Jack Ramsey would give Mo 20+ minutes.
