You gotta be good to be lucky....and Price proved that he is both in RND 2 Gm 1 vs Boston. He was terrific. Stopped Krejci on two breakaways. Boston had near 50 SOG. Price was cool and collected. Had great focus. Didn't let the Lucics, Marchands & Thorntons bother him as they tried to rattle him in front of the net. Subban got the game winner in 2OT. He is Montreal's 'Go To Guy'. One helluva game.
yes he had a great game, what people don't know is he is injured and everybody keeping it hush hush (via montreal radio).... and he is playing top tier, hank step up
Great win for Montreal. With the way it played out, up 2-0 and 3-2, I think Montreal needed to win that game to have a real shot to win the series. Good for them.
last time i checked the best stat is wins, not GGA or SV% those stats are misleading to say the least, carey price is hurt and just carried montreal in game 1 to steal game 1, now lets see if hank can carry the rangers in game 1. hank has been subpar to his standards anybody who defends him as best goalie in the league is biased. Hopefully that changes against PITT!, quick, rask, has played better IMO
Wow sv% are misleading? How exactly does that happen? I'll agree that gaa is misleading especially if you give up a lot of power play goals. But save percentage basically tells the entire story. And when i say this in talking about comparing goalies with the same amount of playing time. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
Just read the first sentence to his post and you'll get your answer. "last time i checked the best stat is wins". Yup, my mouth dropped too that there are people who still think this. A goalie who gave up 5gls but won the game b/c his team scored 6 is better than the goalie that gave up 1 but lost b/c his offense couldn't score. Yup.
I will agree that hank has played below his best. That does not mean by any way that it makes him the weakpoint on this team. We will not lose a series because of goaltending Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
His overall numbers are very good. People I think are just waiting for him to steal a game all by himself. That being said he has made some big saves down the stretch in a couple of their playoff wins.
GAA is misleading due to a really good D could help that, Sv% is some what telling of how a goalie is doing. But it really depends if its high quality shots or if its just shots from the point, so you got to take that stat with a grain a salt, win is a win, you could give up 4 goals win 5-4 but make key save to keep the win. as long as your not giving up soft goals which is what matters most. Bad goals are bad goals I think messiah hit the nail right on the head, He hasnt stole a game yet... and since we are all used to him stealing games its tough to swallow when he gives up a soft goal. with that being said i think i would rather have hank in a game 7 then any other NHL goalie right now
Here is what I know. Hank won another game 7, and held the Flyers to 1 goal. He then came back and held the high powered Pens to 2 goals in their place as we won game 1. That's what I know. Pretty good stuff.
hank is hank. he's a very good goaltender who won something somwhere else, his looks are better then his PS record in NHL.. can he win us a ring i think so, but he has too! mcdonagh another overrated rangers player who did something somewhere else..... they need to win it NOW
What you are missing is that hank doesnt have to be the entire story for the rangers to win. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
Hanks due for a shutout, i hope its game 2 but if its not theres a very good chance for game 3 at home....
