Hmmm, I'm not sure what to say. One-get rid of Hammel and Carrie Fisher-Princess Leah...those fuks, may ruin any future SW's movie(s). Really Harrison Ford, what is he now 70? An old walker bound Hans Solo. This may be like watching the Playboy Bunnies of the Cellulite 60s-70s, with faces stretched so tight, they all look Asian.... Lucas was a pioneer, close to Jules Verne...the jury is out, til then....I wish them luck, they may need it. No Samuel L. Jackson, I mean Lawrence Fishburne....LMAO....No Obi Wan-Ewan McGregor, no Liam Neesen.. J.J. Abrams is the one saving grace for the Franchise, but he is NO George Lucas. We may never see another Lucas in 100 years. Oh well.
I am probably the only person to ever walk out on the original Star wars movie. Half way through it I just walked out. I thought it just completely sucked. And I love sci fy movies. For some reason I just couldn't get into the star wars thing.
I never had the desire to see Star Wars. Would love to see a remake of Forbidden Planet with todays technology. Robbie the Robot kicked ass!
I never really got into these movies. I saw them back in the day but never had any desire to watch them again.
Do you know anything about the actual stories? Episode VII was actually written as about 30 years after episode VI... so time-wise, using Hamill, Fisher, and Ford makes sense... Not having Samuel Jackson is a good thing IMO, Liam Neeson even though I love his acting vowed to never be involved with Star Wars again... I liked Ewan McGregor as a young Obi Wan though... George Lucas never wanted to do Episodes VII, VIII, or IX ever and still doesn't, but he sold Lucas films to Disney, so they will do whatever the hell they want now... Lucas is definitely up there with Verne (IMO) and definitely with Gene Roddenberry... More have come sense and had great success like Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel, Firefly, & Serenity, among his involvement in other things) and I'm sure others will continue to come... Personally, I can't effing wait! I've seen 5 of the 6 as original release (Keep in mind I'm only 36 and the first one actually came out about 7 months before I was born)
I've seen all 6 of the movies. I must confess, I don't know the long story line as well as you do. My 30 year old Son, keeps me informed well, much like your insight. He too, explained how and why the new Franchise and story makes sense to bring the old Luke, and Princess back. I'm more or less, saying, I fear seeing an aged wrinkled Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hammill who's voice anymore is to stereotyped of The Joker, who he does voice overs of, on a Batman comic/cartoon story line. I wonder if he's ruined those vocal chords. More or less, I'm only parodying the original troupe. An aged trio of Hans, Luke, and Leah, to me are over the hill, LIKE ME...! A dinosaur amongst young players, mice and men...LOL.... I don't doubt Disney will make this Franchise work. The Evil Empire is Disney.... I enjoyed the first Pirates of The Caribbean, yet think Disney Beat a horse til it was dead, while Depp cashed in. I would of incorporated Pirates II, into I, then completed the Pirates story in a 2nd installment. But, this is about Star Wars, and I'm sure it will make triple digit millions, tho' I doubt I will see it, maybe, my Son doesn't let me off so easy....I'm sure he will bound, gag, and tie me then drag me to the movies... seriously...!
My Bad Steve. I thought you posted the clip below, I recalled the VW commercial from the pic, thinking it was the link (below), actually 59 put up the pic. Here ya' go for your viewing pleasure, I get a kick out of this every time I see it. http://www.essentialstyleformen.com/...ial-the-force/
All y'all saggy balled motherfuckers need to recognize science fiction history, I remember watching star wars when I was like 5, please tell me I'm not the only one here that is looking forward to this? No offense, my balls sag too
I was 10, so this franchise...like the Yankees, permeate my lifetime. In the meantime I'll have to settle for bulleye-ing whomp rats in my t-16 back home.
I am not going to reveal how old I was when Star Wars first came out, other than to say I had kids I took to the First Premier. They're more into the Franchise than I am, my biggest thrill, seeing them ooh and awe over one of the greatest visceral and sound work, of its time. When I first laid eyes on a F-117A, without it wings attached, I swore i was seeing a Star Wars inspired designed, Stealth Fighter, well close enough....that was more of a thrill for me. Star Wars, in real life. While the old bird was but a beacon of black hole times to come. My Son's read the stories which Lucas Wrote, which Disney is going to try to re-write, as they can't plagiarize Lucas, already written work. As much as they can't tell the story of how Hans Solo and Chewbaca met. That story too is off limits. So why does Disney think they can re-tell a classic, already written in SW folk lore? Cuz it all comes down to Millions if not Billions of Bucks....$$$$ Maybe, I'll just stick to my old black and white- "12 O'Clock High" re-runs....J/K.
I am totally psyched to see the latest Star Wars film. Although I was not thrilled with Jar Jar Binx I have to say I do like the first three episodes. The originals are classic. it is now time to continue the story ...
Jar Jar was the worst character ever...fitting his nomination on the Senate floor led to genesis of the Empire.
