Carlos Boozer today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Tuesday, Oct. 31 through Sunday, Nov. 5. Iverson has scored 30-plus points in six straight games dating back to last season, two games shy of his career-best eight-game streak, and has scored 30-plus points in his last three season openers tying Michael Jordan's streak from the 1995-96 thru 1997-98 seasons. Boozer recorded three double-doubles on the week and led the Jazz in both scoring (20.7) and rebounds. In addition, he helped Utah defeat the Suns in Phoenix for the first time since the 2003-04 season, leading the team back from a 15-point deficit in the second half. Lamar Odom, Milwaukee?s Charlie Villanueva, Minnesota?s Kevin Garnett, and New Orleans/Oklahoma City?s David West.Odom, Johnson, all great players, but I think Boozer, and especially Iverson deserved to win it this week. :happy0144: -Iverson reacted relaxed when he heard the news.-And Boozer? Well, he yelled "Ooohhhh!!!!" out of sheer amazement, because he couldn't believe he is the western conference Player of the Week. Carlos received a technical and will be suspended by the League for 2 games.

Wow Lamar Odom got robbed imo. He probably had the best week in the NBA period. AI definetly did deserve it though for the East.

Boozer, at the time, averaged 15 boards per night (with a double-double every game) and lead his team to a 3-0 record. Not to mention Boozer got another double-double last night in a win vs. Detroit, making them 4-0. I agree Odom has been incredible as well, but Boozer deserved it too.I agree with AI, runner up was LeBron. I can't believe Cleveland lost to Charlotte though. But AI with his game winner and leading Philly to 3-0 is definitely deserving it. Plus like the averages say, like 35 points and 8 assists a night.

That's damn impressive to me, and that FG% would be higher but he goes into chucking mode at the end of games when he knows they have the victory in hand (see ATL and MIA games). But I agree that Boozer deserved it over Odom. Looking over the stats, Boozer is playing incredible basketball... 15 rebounds a night? That is crazy. The Jazz always seem to get off to strong starts, but then the injury bug bites them... if they can stay healthy then the West better watch out.

I think he has played to be deserving of the Player of the Week.Iverson has played awesome in every game this season. He needs production like this for the Sixers to have a chance at the playoffs IMO.

Iverson's play has been great, and is a big reason for our surprising 3-0 start, but the BIGGEST reason for our 3-0 start is the production of guys like Korver and Iguodala, not to mention the lack of production from Webber (I know that sounds weird, but it is helping). Plus Dalembert has improved defensively in terms of realizing when to go after a shot and when not to (only one goaltend so far this season, and that was accidental).Iverson will put up his 30 points and 8 or so assists a night, but if Korver and Iguodala continue to step up, and Webber continues to defer his shots over to those guys... THAT is the production we need to possibly make the playoffs.
