I cant find the original topic, I'm sure it's too old to be bumped anyway. What are your thoughts on Gay Marriage? Here's how I look at the situation. What does it matter whether they are boyfriend-boyfriend or married? They are going to live together and interact together every day anyway. Getting married would change nothing. In my opinion being against homosexuals is the exact same thing as being prejudice against another race. Homosexuality is here, It's not going to go anywhere. Regardless of of mine or anybody else's Convictions. Gays should not be looked down upon because they happen to live a different lifestyle than normal. I am not saying we have to embrace it, but it has to be accepted.

Theres always going to be people for and against it. And, theres no way to change that... unless we kill em all. But, Im not really for it. Or Against it. I just think its wrong.

They would have basic rights they deserve and people would go on living their lives. Instead, we have all these douchebags that won't just end it so we can move on from this.

I look at issues like this as one thing. If it doesn't effect me, I don't have a care in the world. Homosexuals could do anything they want together and I would be A-OK with it.

I'm went through a big debate related to it before, so my views should be very clear about this.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>In my opinion being against homosexuals is the exact same thing as being prejudice against another race.</div>The difference between the two is that homosexuality is a choice. Being colored is not.

If being gay was as simple as a choice, he would have chosen not to. Being gay is natural; it has been since the beginning of time. It occurs in the animal world, and at the end of the day we?re all just animals. But what else should I expect from someone who still says colored?

Althoguh morally I think it is wrong I say sure why not? It doesn't affect me or any aother straight person. This way homosexuals will actually have to get married to share health benefits instead of how it is now which is not fair to straight people.

I could care less about this subject. There are people dying and starving to death all over the world and we are worried about two guys or two girls getting married? Give me a break!Who cares if it isn't Catholic. We have done a lot of things un-catholic as a nation and we are worried about this? Jeez I hate this topic.

I grew up in an extreme sect of evangelical Christian movement. Mom and Dad spent 20 years in that movement and they too thank god to be free from that. Put it this way, during the next few days call all the minorities you encounter ?colored? -right to their faces. Come back and let us know how that works out for ya.As far as gay marriage I?m all for it. Homosexuality is a normal way of life for a small percentage of our neighbors. I don?t think it is a choice, as much as I think some folks are just wired that way. But even if it is a choice, who are we to deny consensual adults from a way of life that has no effect whatsoever at our house? My wife and I have 3 daughters. What if one of them should be a lesbian? It wouldn?t change how we feel about our daughters, it wouldn?t make us love them less, or less proud of them. If our daughter was to meet someone, whom she loves and wants with to spend her life with, why should she be denied that right? It?s easy, if you don?t support gay marriage, don?t marry a gay.

I think everyone should be for more gay marriage, because the more men that like other men, the more women there are for me. Really though, it doesn't hurt me or anyone else if some male or female is gay, that's their choice. No one comes into my house or comes into any of your houses and tells you not to watch basketball, or to stop dating women. So where do people get off telling others that they shouldn't be gay?

It doesn't affect us directly, but you can't say that it doesn't affect us indirectly. I'm all for giving them the same benefits as other married straight couples tho.

    S. Africa Parliament OKs Gay MarriagesNov "When we attained our democracy, we sought to distinguish ourselves from an unjust painful past, by declaring that never again shall it be that any South African will be discriminated against on the basis of color, creed culture and sex," Home Affairs Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa- Nqakula told the National Assembly. http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/11/14/D8LCTCSG0.html

They aren't being discriminated against if they get the same rights.Guys can't go in the womans bathroom. Young people can't live in a senior citizens home. You have to be 21 to drink. You have to be 16 to get a drivers license. You have to be a man and a woman to get a marriage license. Like I said..getting the same benefits a married couple is fine. However, marriage is for a man and a woman. The sanctity of the marriage is how people would be effected. Over time, more than likely it could dramatically effect the way we view marriages.I respect the other side and see their point however. And if the majority agreed, and it won in a vote, than it should be done. But from what I have seen, the majority are against the idea.

I think thats what most homosexual people want, is the legal rights that come with marriage. marriage itself is a religious institution set up between a man and a woman. so I can understand heterosexuals not wanting homosexuals having the same institutions. but having a Civil Union between homosexual couples would be just fine.

This is a non-issue IMO. Some have already stated it... This country is far from being "free" as long as this continues to BE an issue... People should be able to do whatever the F*ck they please, however the F*ck they want to, so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else in the process. In this case, it's not a question... There's nothing "wrong" about it... It's not anymore "wrong" than two women, or men and women getting married. Let them be together, they're not hurting ANYONE!
