I agree. I've been very impressed with him when I've watched Suns games. A real hard-ass, which we could use. But not sure why the Suns would let him go.

If we somehow win the championship, this thread is going to be hilarious.

For Portland to get that Payton/Malone-type of aging superstar free agent this summer we'd need to at least advance to the WCF. There aren't many of those guys every year, and the good ones want to use their remaining time on a proven contender, not a team hoping to advance past the second round.

Even so, I'd want to be rid of Mo. If you aren't getting better you're getting worse. (maybe not true with a young team, but still)

I say keep the starting five intact and let CJ/TRob develop. Everyone else can be upgraded.

Two guys that have thoroughly impressed me this year and in the first round are Patrick Patterson and Greivis Vasquez. If we could add those two to bolster our bench, we'd be sick (er).

Edit: Sounds like I'm not alone with the Vasquez love. Any legit PG would suffice. I see Devin Harris brought up here as well. He'd be nice but there definitely is some recency bias here

Yeah, Vasquez would be more of a big(ger) money, long-term answer. Harris would be more of a 2-year stopgap until we find someone long-term, or CJ develops the skills we need.

Also, I wonder what Chalmers is expecting this summer. I don't think most teams see him as a starting PG. Is Miami expecting to upgrade at his position?

The more I look at the stats, the more I say we are in real need of some defensive upgrades. Matthews, Batum, Lillard are all poor defenders, so having guys coming in behind them or starting ahead of them in some cases who are "defensive" guys would be huge, IMO

You are ridiculous. Matthews is a poor defender? are you fucking kidding me? No point to argue i suppose, because you "eye for basketball" is NULL. Don't even look at Harden's stats for the first 5 games, just look at the last two Harden shots in Game 6

I believe you meant to say my post was ridiculous. Saying I am is against the rules if a mod happens to care

SlyPokerDog is a troll. Nothing more, nothing less. Instead of giving an actual response to my response of your ridiculous "post", you get butt-hurt that I said you are ridiculous? Hahaha, take your ball and go home

Tony Allen is another guy. Wing defenders, ideally a back up PG that can play defense, although Mo will do, I suppose, and some vet bigs

Something to keep in mind. Next summer, LA/Wessy/RoLo/Dame will be getting contract extensions. Nic and his 12.3 mil will be the only major contact on the books for 2015-16 going into the summer.

After this playoff run, I have no doubt that PA will be willing to go into tax territory to extend these guys (no matter what he has said about being more conscientious about $ in the last few years). But being careful with that cap this summer will make decisions next summer far easier. I don't wanna blow our MLE on Vasquez tbh

Tony Allen is a great defender but I shudder watching him pass or shoot, thats why I like iggy so much but thats also why Iggy got a 4 year 50m deal and tony allen got a 4 year 22 deal or something like that.
I could see us going after Josh McRoberts this off season. Not a bad defender would be great coming off the bench for 15m and can pass and roll to the basket on the PnR and won't cost us more then the MLE. Need to find a good cheap C option that wont' kill us, someone to give us like what JO gave GS this year.
