I think the Spurs have the largest collection of underrated players in the league. That alone makes them dangerous.

And a Soviet scientist invented stealth technology. Yet who harnessed it? We did.

It's not about who invented it (Bill Laimbeer was flopping before the Euro invasion), but it was the Euros who brought it mainstream.

And the reason that I'm generalizing, is because flopping is part of the way they play. Just like flopping is part of the way the Rockets play. It's a key part of their basketball strategy; it's not just something to do when you can. And that use of flopping has now been integrated into the NBA game.

Individually, they're nothing to fear. Collectively, they play like five digits forming into a fist.

It's a system team rather than a talent one. Popovich coaches like the NFL. You create a system and then find pieces to fit into it. Sloan did the same thing. So impressive.

TBH I just didn't really like the way you classified it as "Euro-Flopping". All Euros don't flop. Parker doesn't flop. Nico (while shying away from contact A LOT) doesn't flop. Claver? Rudy sorta flopped but he shied away from contact just like Nic does. All Euros don't flop so to call it euro flopping is again IMO perpetuating an imaginary stereotype.

We know all black people like chicken. Just like all white people do. Unless you're vegetarian. ;)

The reason I stereotype it as "Euro", is that was the system of teaching it. Just like in hockey, there used to be a Canadian style of play (VERY physical) and a Soviet Style (fluid, movement, passing to an area rather than a man, etc.). It has to do with how they are coached. It doesn't mean everyone does it.

...does anyone know if Tony Parker can finish with his left hand? :dunno: Seems like all of the highlights from their Mavs series show him going left but putting the layup in with his dominant right hand. If so, then #ForceHimLeft and #SwatThatShit!

I like Manu except for when we're playing against the Spurs. Sure, he flops, but his game isn't predicated on the flop. Even if he doesn't get the call he's still going to score - unlike Harden. First and foremost he's trying to put the ball through the hoop the vast majority of the time, while trying to get the "and 1" is secondary. Manu combines great basketball fundamentals and skills with, ahem, "artistic flourishes".

I would rather lose to San Antonio 4-1 than lose to Dallas, the 8th seed. So I really don't care if you guys bump it.
