IIRC Lillard was having a horrendous 4th quarter in Game 6 while Lin was on him before McFail had a brain fart and put Parsons on him for that final shot.
Lillard only took two shots before "the shot" in the 4th. And that was just one game. Derp. Why not talk about the rest of the series?
He had a few games where he struggled but overall he was solid. Over on ST we've discussed ad nauseum how Beverly is extremely overrated on defense and Lin is garbage all around for what Houston needs. The overall point was that he'll have issues with Green defending him, though he wasn't needed tonight with Tony playing like a top PG on both ends.
I was responding to the "Lillard had a horrid 4th" with Lin guarding him. He didn't. He only took two shots and deferring to other guys.
LA shot 5-12 with Splitter as his primary defender, and 2 of those buckets came in the 4th quarter. In the first half he was 3-10 when Splitter guarded him 1-on-1. I'm glad this has become a "your teams players sucks" by spurs fans. Or at least, one spurs fan. Always fun when these type add insult to injury after the blowout.
No insult there man. Our core is anything but sucky. Sure they sucked tonight, but if one day was the basis in the league then even Adam Morrison would be GOAT.
Umm yeah, I stand by my quote, which was "Lol are you his mother or something? Nothing about Tiago Splitter is "elite," and certainly nothing on the offensive end. Lmao." There are some elite players in this league. Tiago Splitter is not one of them. Nor is Danny Green. They're middling role players on a very, very good team. Actually when I was rooting for you guys in the finals last year, I noticed that they can both be huge liabilities at times. You guys have a good team and I'm sure the role players are a part of that. But Tiago Splitter is NOT "elite." That's not an opinion, it's an objective fact.
By and large the Spurs roster is full of average to below-average players. That's not a slight - it's just a fact. And it's fact that makes the Spurs that much more impressive than they already are. Popovich takes borderline NBA players and makes them world-beaters. Sure, they've got a great core with Duncan/Parker/Ginobli. Guys like Belinelli, Leonard, and Splitter would be roughly average on any other team in the league, and everyone else would be mediocre at best. We see this every time the Spurs trade one of their ancillary players away. But as long as they're playing for Pops they are going to perform at a well-above average level. It's simply amazing to watch - and so frustrating when it's our team that's playing them. Popovich is making Stotts look like Kevin McHale...but at least McHale was able to keep the games close. And to anyone arguing against the fact that Splitter did a great job on LMA - stop. Splitter did a great job on LMA.
Splitter put in work again with Duncan getting in on some action. Still, I fully expect the Spurs to get destroyed in Game 3. Portland is due for a hot shooting night.
Series not over bro... But I'm not the one saying "I knew oden was bust" but your entire forum was willing to trade Duncan and half your team for him! Lmao
I am not sure how we stop the Spurs or if we can. But putting Lillard on Parker or giving Lamarcus the ball down low, does not seem to be working.
Lmao, you just admitted you weren't even a member back then bro. That could be sarcasm like "we don't even have what it takes to trade for him". If you weren't there, you can't think for him.
It's too bad your forum has mods, I have a great GIF for you otherwise... skateboardshittingonblazers.gif
