Al, they've played 6gms in 9 days, that is a lot of hockey and even if it's b/c of their own doing, it's still tiring.

The game was a lot different in 1988. No point in comparing the intensity of the games then vs. now.

But 31 he leads the league in playoff shots...LOL. What a joke...SCORE SOME GOALS NASH.

Al, you should be there. Garden will be rocking. They know a loss and season over. So this is the perfect game to be at. The Rangers need us more in this game than any game outside of game 7 against Philly. So we need to be there and be loud. And IF we get that first goal, and the monkey off our back, it will be a crazy building and put us in a great position to even the series at 2 and make it a tossup in the last 3 games...a series we can still win for sure with a W tomorrow.

Let me tell you something I don't like though, the way AV and some of the players are appearing to use the schedule as a crutch.

MSL said regroup and come up for air.
AV called it a stupid schedule.

So we need to be careful. All true, and if we use it as a motivational issue, great. But if we let it wear us down and get into our heads as a reason for the loss last night or in game 2, big mistake. We need to guard against that, rest today, and we better come out on fire tomorrow night. No schedule excuse after a day off today with our season on the line.

I think it's fine to use it. The lack of scoring is more mental then physical. They are gripping sticks tight. They are not getting any breaks on the ice (3 posts). Relax. Take a day to chill. Come back Wed and score some freaking goals

Chuck, if you can get that close to him I prefer you give nash a swift kick in the balls

last time I looked you need to lose 4 games in a series to be eliminated. to all those who have hit the panic button ( on this Board ! , never happen ) chill out. That was one strange game last nite. It simply was not in the cards. If one of those 3 posts go in, it's a different ballgame. But that's the way it goes in sports. As Ranger fans, your part is to cheer for your team, not to start dismantling the team because their down 2-1 in a series. It is absurd to play 5 games in 7 nites, it has to effect a team negatively, but we soldier on and lets take it to them in game 4

I don't care about posts or whether or not they're tired. The fact of the matter is they were shutout in back to back games by MAF and have been shutout in 8 straight regulation periods.

All true Mess, but all we can do is rest up today, and come out on fire tomorrow and win game 4 and make it a tossup series again. That is all we can do, and I expect us to do it. I still think Pitt is a whatever team, and if we play our best we beat them. We'll see what we do tomorrow night. I expect a solid performance, but we need to score a goal and play with the lead for it to happen.

bottom line a team with Mark Messier Brian Leetch and Adam Graves wouldn't let themselves be shut out in back to back games the would find a way.

Why do you care SO much that we got shutout back to back games? why are these losses different than if they had lost 6-5 or 2-1 in both? Did the Rangers never lose 2gms in a row when Messier/Leetch/Graves were here?

because when you get shut out you try even that much harder....its mental ...a last minute goal in game three would have meant the world.

you don't think scoring on MAF would lead to more goals?

I know Graves would beat the shit out of both Malkin and Crosby. Mess would've slashed Neal's ankles and we would be on our way to a series victory!

Graves did a LOT of fighting for mess. He was pretty much his bodyguard. Beuk would beat the shit out of anyone who fucked with number 2. God, I miss those days.

Series is far from over, but the Rangers have to come out tonight and just pound the Pens into the ice. Get the fans into the game early, and don't let up ... That includes you as well Mr. Nash!

All Messier would have had to do with Nash was glare at him, and he would have either started playing a more physical game by driving to the net, or would have requested a trade.
