McDonough was an absolute dog on that play. He glided while his man skated right by him and put in the rebound. No effort to pick up the man at all except a weak reach with the stick. No skating and no contact at all. I understand the shoulder is clearly injured and he will likely need repairs on it but come on. Pick up your damn man and keep him out of the play.
If he is hurt Mess and it comes out Saturday/early next week, I give the kid a pass. I will not make a final call on McDonagh until we see if he was injured, and how badly if he is indeed hurt. That is only fair. Again, his play went from all-star stud down to 3rd pair level in the playoffs. Has to be something deeper.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out McDonagh has something wrong with his legs as well as his shoulder. His legs just aren't there either.
The bottom line is that last night there was very little effort or desire. That's very disappointing to see when you're a fan. Losing hard fought games is one thing. It happens and you deal with it. Losing because you just don't want to compete is another story.
The Nash thing cracks me up though. Like results don't matter. He wants it and is trying hard, so don't boo him. BS...this is the NHL not pee-wee football.
so glad I didn't spend over 400 to get two tickets and have my son watch me go bezerk. that long train ride home would have been the death of both of us. My pee wee football team has a lot of heart, they cry when they lose, if I saw nash snap a stick in frustration I could give him a pass..if he layed his body out and hustled and crashed the net, than I think he gets a pass and WOULDNT BE BOOED. but he has been playing like a pussy. Pussies get booed in NY.
Put in Talbot. Hank is not the main issue but I guarantee you they will wake up and win the next game at least.
Are you fucking crazy? Yeah that makes a lot of sense....the team cant score so lets change the All World Goalie and put in a kid who has a small resume.
I've been a Talbot proponent all year but I wouldn't change since Lundqvist isn't the problem here. He's been very good all postseason. If he had a few poor games I'd say yeah.
Enough with the stupid Talbot shit. Repeating it twenty times doesn't make it any better of an idea or thought.
all i can say is wow, but i think about nash, his only goal as a ranger was @ boston in boston and i was at that game and remember vividly, maybe i need to go to more games?? LOL willing to try anything. its tough to swallow it is, this is a disappointment to say the least, but the thing is that we are not good and i dont know what happened, we looked decent against flyers, IDK what happened
McD is definitely hurt, NBC showed a clip from early in the Philly series where he was hit awkwardly by I believe Rinaldo and Ryan's left arm was hanging on the ice. I give him credit for toughing it out. If you are watching any of the other series Stralman, Klein and Moore would not even be on most other postseason team's active rosters let alone be playing significant minutes. These 3 bums are garbage and should be shown the door - McIlrath, Allen and Falk are much better options. Girardi has been brutally bad in this series, no inclination to hit anyone, needs to get a mean streak fast now that he's resigned. Skating past the front of the goal on the Pitt shorthander leaving a juicy rebound laying there has been Dan's playoff in a nutshell - timid, nonphysical and turnover laden. Staal has been just as bad this series, the deflection off his skate would have never materialized had he stepped up at the blue line and taken the body. Again no inclination to hit anyone any time. As good as AV has been in his debut changing the Rangers mindset and taking them to the playoffs he has absolutely shit the bed postseason. I'm beginning to wonder if the non-physical philosophy is coming from AV - that was the knock on him in Vancouver, teams took liberties with the Canucks and the only thing that seemed to get worked up was the piece of gum in AV's mouth. After an impressive start to the PP in the first 2 games of the Philly series AV has been unable to adjust strategy to counter the Flyers and now Pens hold the blue line stance. The Rangers are being outhustled and the lines have become stagnant. AV has made some questionable decisions on scratching players. I thought the Rangers should have rolled the Flyers in 5 worst case 6. The fact that the series went a close 7 in hindsight should have raised a red flag. How this series ends in my opinion shapes the team's composition next year.
He also has all world talent in Vancouver. If we played more physical then the ttansition game suffers. I find it funny though that the rangers still lead the playoffs in blocked shoots but no one is blowing a tire over this stratergy of throwing themselves into pucks.
