Honestly I don't like seeing any individual getting credit on his resume for TEAM titles. Jeter was a PART of 5 world series but so were others. Eli didn't win 2 SBs the Giants did. JMO.

Eli and the Giants are going to be in position to compete for another Super Bowl. I like with what I've seen in the first three rounds of the draft and they went all in with the free agent moves they made. They're built to complete for a title. It doesn't mean it happens but it would be a major disappointment if they didn't go to the playoffs this year.

Peyton will finish his career as the greatest regular season QB of all time. When it comes to the playoffs not so much. Three SB appearances is nice but the last two have been nightmares for him. A dreadful pick six against New Orleans and then not much to say about Seattle. He simply doesn't get in the big playoff game discussion when compared to the all time greats.

...mess, if you want to measure greatness by PS success, regardless of the sport, that's up to you.

...But Eli is not near the QB Peyton is.

Never said he was which is why I specifically said when you compare Peyton's playoffs performances with the other all time greats.

...20 years from now when the subject of the greatest QBs ever is being discussed, Eli's named will not be mentioned, Peyton's will.

I'm not sure why you're stuck on Eli Manning when Peyton's playoffs are being discussed. Eli has won two Super Bowls as a QB in New York. People need to deal with it, stop trying to diminish it and move on. When it comes to Peyton he's simply not comparable to guys like Montana and Brady when he's 1-2 in Super Bowls and has eight one and done performances in the playoffs.

Then again, Jim Kelly, 0-4, got in the hall. Forgot about Plunkett...I stand corrected, you can win 2 and not get in. Although there is a bias against Raider QBs.

Also note that Eli has 2 SB MVP awards. And in 20 years, when people talk about Peyton and his records, they will also talk about his brother who had more success in the playoffs. Regular season, career stats fall...ask Marino and Favre. Superbowl wins and SB MVPs get remembered. And Eli led his team to victory over the undefeated Patriots. In fact Eli will be remembered for defeating Brady led teams twice. Now the Pats were one of the most dominant teams in his era, a team his brother struggled to beat. Is Payton the better QB? By a long shot. But in both those games, I'd rather have Eli over Payton.

...because you're the one who brought him into the convo, not me.

...and I'm not diminishing anything and I'll move on when I'm ready. But I am amused by both the credit and blame given to ONE individual for TEAM accomplishments...Eli didn't win shit by himself...and Peyton didn't lose shit by himself.

...no, not a Eli hater at all. I just don't think at this point he's HOF worthy.

For those using the 2 SBs as a stepping stone for Eli's entry to the HOF please refer to post #21

And BTW: I'm a Giants fan.

Eli will go to the HOF when all is said and done unless he completely implodes the last five or so years.

Like remembering to throw the ball to guys wearing the same uniform that he's wearing. When all is said & done he MAY have the total yards to get in.

...other than participating in 2 SBs, what makes him HOF worthy?

...actualy, if he wants a ticket to the HOF, he needs to pick up the pace for the next five or so years.
