The Blazers have led for 33 seconds in this series so far.

I can live with that because the Blazers have far exceeded my expectations this year already. Fear not, homers, we will improve our bench and or wing players next year. Assuming LA stays, we will only get better

If LMA puts up these type of numbers against legit Defensive threats, I wouldn't be against trading LMA on a deal where we win.

It's funny: I thought we were going to miss the playoffs, then I thought we'd be beaten by Houston easily. But I actually thought we had a chance against the Spurs. Just shows that optimism never pays off.

So... what was happening when we were competing against the Spurs in the regular season? Were they just faking us out?

Sole positive: if we were going to be outclassed by any team in the league, I think I would've picked the Spurs. Imagine if this was happening against the Rockets.

I was with you for the most part. I didn't think we'd make the playoffs and I thought Houston would beat us (easily could have happened) I thought the Spurs would win the series, but honestly thought we'd be a bit more competitive

Regular season and playoffs are completely different. Ths Blazers team is learning that now

Other defensive threats dont give LMA this much trouble. Even Dwight and Asik were an easir matchup for LMA then Tiago.

Eh, I don't know. The refs called a lot of fouls on Asik for basically the same shit they're letting Splitter get away with.

Splitter is fouling LMA but LMA isnt doing enough to get the calls. with Asik LMA wasnt hesitsting and thinking he was doing everything pretty instinctual so when you get bodied and go up with the shot immediately they are more likely to call a foul then then if your really hesitant and dont want to shoot like he has been the last few games.

Y'know what would be sort of funny? If Poppovich rested Parker, Ginobili and Duncan for the next game. You know, like he does during the regular season?

I don't think he'd do it (too risky if it backfired, and it could really light a fire under the opposing team) but if ever there was a time to do it...

The sad thing is, they'd probably still win.

Ironic title for what comes across as a 'realistic optimism thread'. :)

That'd be the ultimate disrespect. I hope does it and I hope they lose.

Terry Stotts is on the hot seat a little bit after this series

He's been utterly dominated in the coaching game. Pop is coaching circles around him.

Rick Carlisle and his 8 seed Mavericks won 3 games against the Spurs. The Blazers have had the lead for 33 seconds

If the defense doesn't improve next year then Olshey really needs to start looking at other options.

Spurs were shaky during first few games of playoffs. It had nothing to do with Dallas. Their shooters were missing open shots. But in Game 7, the Spurs destroyed Dallas and they've been rolling ever since.

Seriously, RoyToy is fool. We improved by 21 games this year and upset the "better" Rockets in the first round. Terry's job is safe.

    54 wins

21-22 vs teams .500 or better

Beating the bad teams in the NBA means nothing
