Most of us remember that series and what happened. In one word, Zbo. What changes if any would you make to the current Blazers starting line up?
I would see about throwing CJ out there instead of Matthews to see if he can give Parker a little different look in the PnR defense.
Best thing to do is move batum to the 2 have him guard parker, start wright at the 3 and freeland at the 5. This gives our starting unit toughness, length, defense, without hurting spacing on offense or rebounding. Now rolo and matthews provide a punch off the bench. Just because they dont start does t mean they dont finish. If mo is still out barton plays back up point. Matthews still plays big minutes but he carries the bench for the first half.
Matthews has shown in previous years he is not capable of providing a spark off the bench. He feeds off starting and doesn't have the mindset to play from the bench.
I went to Game 4 in 2003 with eblazer and two other posters. The tickets were free, and the Blazers won. Anybody want to give eblazer and me free tickets? We're good luck!
I can't remember, was that the Cheeks/national anthem game or was that game 3? I was at both games, but I don't remember which one had the Natalie Gilbert thing.
Last team to win a championship after being down 2-0 at home was the rockets. Worked well for them! Historical stats are completely irrelevant. No one is beating the spurs if they keep playing this good.
I agree in part. I would be interested in swapping Matthews and TRob. Put Batum on Parker and have TRob guard Leonard. honkicracker mentioned that Matthews needs to start to play well? So far he hasnt played well starting, so I dont think that will matter.
I have a video tape of Game 6 in that series. I haven't played it in a while but I will when I find a VCR. That shit used to give me chills.
That series was awesome. Nick Van Exel was out of his mind. Dirk was in his prime. They were a super tough team. Nash, Finley, and Raja bell
Van Exel was the reason we lost that series. Dirk was Dirk, and Nash really wasn't that great, but we could not stop NVE. He hit so many big shots.
