This franchise has been very solid now the past few seasons. NO ONE has been more critical than me, and I was wrong recently...no doubt.

1 of 2 teams to make the 2nd round at least 3 straight seasons.
    2nd ECF in 3 years.
Sather really made some solid moves this season (starting with firing Torts and hiring AV).

Give everyone credit man. For one night everyone be happy and get along please.

This team deserves that. Outside of 94 my favorite Ranger team.

When your franchise has a goalie like Hank these are the years you should be having. That being said yes it's great to see some serious playoff runs out of this club.

Agreed Chuck and the key to me getting rid of captain queeg and putting in an offensive minded with a great demeanor made for the ny media AV who is always cool, calm and collected

BTW...give Richards HUGE credit. I have been reading that he has been acting as the captain recently. Makes me think he might not get boughtout this summer. But that is a story for another day.

7-0 in game 7's for Richards. Another huge playoff goal. Everything Nash is not.

    Look at Sather's moves:

Firing Torts and hiring AV. Seems like a total slamdunk now, but Torts had won 3 playoff series the past 2 seasons. So that was a gutsy call by Sather.
Added Pouliot. Brought MZA back. Didn't buyout Richards. Made a great trade to add MSL. Made a very strong move to add D. Moore. Made a very good deal of MDZ for Klein.
All 3 guys in the Gabby deal contribute.
    Re-signed Hank, Girardi, and McDonagh.

So give Sather big credit. As much as I have hated the job he has done here, he deserves a tip of the cap this season. And he is a very big reason why we are so deep and can roll line after line, and D pair after D pair. That is huge in the NHL playoffs, and something that really killed us against the Devs two years ago.

I wont give sather credit for firing torts. It was a munity from the players that forced the firing. Everything else I totally agree with. Biggest one was not buying out richards. I admit I was totally against that non move.

I respect that POV Al, but when you are the man in charge you get the credit and the blame. Sather made the move to fire Torts, mutiny or not, so he gets credit for that IMO.

But either way we agree and the point still stands. Sather has done a very good job putting this deep team together that can roll 4 lines and 6 dmen shift after shift. And that is huge, and what it takes to win in the NHL playoffs.

    Good for Sather.

Everyone deserves credit. The zucc, pouliot who I like more and more each game and brass line are all clutch playoff performers. One of these games we're going to get nash and stepan going on the scoreboard(they are both contributing defensively and in the hitting dept) but need them to start contributing goals also. The great wall of lundquist has earned every cent of that 8.5 mill he got and AV is cool calm and collected and just what this team needed behind the bench. And don't forget that 4th line which has been very good and held their own. That passing play by the 4th line which ended on that beautiful boyle goal was as good as you'll see from any 1st or 2nd line around.

Yep we agree. It was/is huge that the coach feels comfortable to roll 4 lines and 6 defensemen, not 5 then 4 in the third period like torts. To me that was his biggest mistake. Not the system..not the shot blocking (still led this postseason in blocked shots)...he simply rode his top players into the ground
