Maybe the Blazers will decide to show up again. As much of a Blazer hater as you are. You have to admit that the Spurs were pulling shots out of their ass that they don't normally hit in those first few games.
Yep. Once the Blazers decide to crank it up again, the Spurs will be crying with their friends in Houston. Blazers still haven't played their best game. Spurs are coming back to earth. Portland is the better team as we've proven over the last several years. And the Blazers have dominated most of the series, winning 5 of the 8 halves.
So instead of being up 26 they'd be up 16 They've dominated because they play real defense and the Blazers don't
....and they were pulling shots out of their ass. Spurs are good. There's no denying that. I've always admired the Spurs. But, the truth is that they were playing way over their head in those first 3 games. We were looking like a team that had never been there.
Nope, when they went cold last night, they fell behind by 20. Even the Rockets never fell behind by 20. Spurs are exhausted. They've been going every other night since the end of the Dallas series. They're so tired, they quit at the end of Game 4. They will regret that. By the time they decide to crank it up, it will be too late. Portland will have ended yet another one of their seasons. Spurs seasons don't end well lately: 2010: Spurs get swept 4-0 2011: Spurs lose to 8th seed 2012: Spurs lose four straight against OKC after winning 20 in a row 2013: Spurs choke in Game 6 after having a 5 point lead with 30 seconds to go. Then Duncan misses a layup in Game 7 See the pattern? Spurs like to end their seasons in spectacular losing fashion. This year will be no different.
In each and every one of the NBA playoff games ever played, one team won and one team lost. That is the only unchanging pattern throughout history. Every game is up for grabs.
I just want the opportunity to watch my Blazers play one more game this season. That isn't too much to ask. And then I'll say that again tomorrow.
