It's amazing we actually have to wait to see who the Rangers play. Who would've thought after being down 3-1.
They both present problems. Let's not forget that Hank has sucked in Montreal for years now. I think they had Talbot play almost every game there this year.
Two incredibly good hockey clubs no doubt but that's what you get in a conference final. It's like I said earlier today though. When it's down to the final four who knows what can happen. You just look for the magical run to continue.
Yeah, we struggle in Montreal, but I still rather play them. Boston is just so big and physical. Really pound us. BUT either way let's go. We are ready. I think game 1 will be Saturday. That's how I see it.
I don't think it matters though as I would be very surprised to see Montreal win game 7 in Boston. We'll see. We can win the cup Mess...YES WE CAN. Why not us.
They can certainly use it. I actually think Montreal has outplayed Boston in the series so we shall see. Boston likely wins.
Rooting for montreal. Rather play a skating team like us than have to worry about guys like lucic and thornton maiming our stars
I actually agree, but game 5 was all Boston. I can see that again. We'll see though. Anything can happen in game 7. FIRST GOAL....
And their size as they always pound us into the ground. I think either team would be a very tough challenge. But I rather play the skating team Montreal.
Wow chuck, you were just happy with going to ECF and now you are singing a different tune. Those remaining west teams are very tough to beat.
I am just happy they got to ECF at least and on its way knocked off flyers AND the pens. How great to see that in one playoffs year. Never happened before.
rather play boston, this year we got more then one line that can score, chara can only play against one line hes also getting older and slower..... boston has shown some weakness as of late, montreal playing really well, we dont play well in montreal but we play ok in boston, price is good, montreal is no joke. p.s. also want to go to games in boston since i live there so im alittle biased
I think everyone needs to look again at Boston. Look at how Boston really does dominate and pound us. Their size is so difficult for us. Look at the Flyers series versus the Pens series. Despite both going 7 I think the Pens series was much "easier" for us. We won game 7 in Pitt, doubt we win game 7 in Philly. On top of that we pretty much took 3 games off against Pitt and still beat them. When we got our sh*t together I believe we proved we are simply a better team than Pitt. On the flip side you can certainly say we should have beaten Philly in less than 7, but we didn't. Boston is a bigger, more talented, and has a much better goalie Philly. And again I think the first two series showed we are better against a team like Pitt (which is what Montreal is) than a team like Boston (which is what Philly is except Boston is faster and has a better goalie). It is a good debate. I think either team would be a very tough series for us win or lose. We open on the road either way. And quite frankly I still think Boston wins pretty safely tonight so not sure this back and forth really matters. But I just don't see how someone would rather play the big physical team loaded with playoff experience. Who pounds us every time we play them, double so when I think we saw we matchup better with a team like Pitt than a team like Philly. I much rather play Montreal. But again that is just my humble opinion. And we saw the Boston matchup just last season when we were owned. Now we are better...I agree, but they dominated that series. The only series we have been dominated in for a while. Says something to me as well.
Here is the deal Step...we are in the Final 4. When you make it that far anything can happen. We won't be the favs. Boston would still be a pretty big fav over us. Montreal I think would be a smaller fav, but still a fav over us with home ice and coming off a game 7 win at Boston. The Hawks and Ducks/Kings would also be a fav over us if we made the SCF. So if we are being fair, we are # 4 of the last 4 teams. Least amount of points. Would open on the road again all. And would be an underdog against all. So that is all fair Step. BUT who cares. When you get this far anything can happen. Let the chips fall where they may. I do know we have an all-world goalie. I also know this team is so tight now like a family. And we are so deep this season unlike past seasons. We go 4 lines strong and 6 dmen strong every game. So no we would not be the favs in any series I do not believe, but who knows what happens once the puck is dropped. That's why they play the games.
It really doesnt matter whom this team plays next, we can play the whos a better matchup but that all means squat. The NHL playoffs are an entirely different beast and either the Habs or the Bruins will be a legit competitor for a 7 game series, this team has to play its game and focus on that.
FOR SURE Lundy. And I am sure the team views it that way 100%, and rightfully so. This is just for discussion on a message board. We play who we play. That will be what it will be...no doubt.
It doesn't matter. Montreal is a good matchup size wise and I think they are less skilled than Boston. With that said there's nothing that says Boston has to make it to another cup final or a team like Chicago has to win it. I think the Rangers could beat any of the teams left; the bruins, ducks, Habs, kings, or Hawks... The rangers could beat any one of those teams. They are deeper than the Kings and Ducks and their 4th line is better than Bostons
One thing I know for sure..........The RANGERS are the underdogs with either Montreal or Boston. Majority of hockey fans (Ranger fans excepted) think Montreal or Boston will wipe out the Rangers (why? their reasoning is "we" do not belong. WHAT A BUNCH OF HORSE CRAP.
