I'll take it one step further, since Christmas the Rangers record is up there with just about anyone. This was a different team after the bad start.

Montreal out early to a 1-0 lead. Team that scores first wins nearly 75% of game 7's. In the 2nd round teams that scored first are 23-1. We'll see if that holds.

We can certainly play with these teams, but watching this game, and a lot of the series, we will have to be at our best. These are two very good teams and no matter which one we play it will be a good challenge.

Montreal is fast and skilled like the Pens. MUCH better goalie. Better home ice. Tougher on D and have Subban. Pitt has more true high end talent upfront, the Habs have some more grit upfront.

Boston is big and physical like the Flyers (except much better). Better goalie. Much better/tougher on D. Bigger and even more physical upfront. And MUCH deeper.

For our team I will take the team more in the mold of the Pens, fast and skilled, over the team more in the mold of the Flyers, physical and looking to pound.

And if you look at the two series we have played thus far, I think it appears to be pretty clear we'd fair better against the Habs, but very tough either way.

Well...2-0 Montreal now. Looks like we may get to see Hank in Montreal Saturday afternoon.

The Habs are playing really well obviously if they hold on, winning games 6 & 7 against the very tough Bruins, but I think this is better for us. Rather play the more skilled faster team. Just don't allow Subban to bomb away and I think we'll be okay.

Low scoring series with two of the best goalies in the nets. 2 goals could win every game. Original 6 matchup. Would be fun if the Habs hold on. BUT the Bruins aren't done yet I don't believe.

2-0 Montreal. They have simply been the better team in this series. They would have to choke again to blow this.

What do you think Mess? Doesn't matter I guess, but just curious. If Montreal holds on you feel better about that or do you want the Bruins to come back and win?

Either team they play, you know the series will go 7 games. To be honest, it will be a toss up either way.

Yeah, these are two good teams Step. And again it will be a challenge either way AND we play who we play so deal with it. But simply for message board discussion I think the style the Habs play is better for the style we play IMO. I look more at the style of play and the physical makeup of the team, and from that POV I think playing the Habs would be better for us.

To be honest, if we didn't suck in Montreal I would hands down say Montreal. Us stinking there is the only thing that makes me hesitate.

Frustrating goal allowed by Montreal. Had about 3 chances to clear on the PK, and couldn't get it done. Boom goal Boston and now we have a coin flip in the 3rd.

Subban kinda scares me with that booming shot from the point.

BTW...Saw Boyle today on fifth avenue and 48th street walking with his GF. The guy is huge and I mean huge in real life.

For sure. Reminds me of Karlsson on the Sens two years ago. He was bombing non-stop...LOL.

Bottom line is these are both very good teams. We need to play our best to beat either. There is no "easier" team really.

    We'll see...

I think boston will find a way to tie this up unless the habs score on their PP.

Is Eddie O usually with Emerick? It sounds like its just him and Maguire lately.

This game is almost identical to our game last night. Only difference is 2-0 tonight and it was 1-1 in our game. Outside of that same game really. Total domination in the 3rd by the Pens/Bruins because us/Montreal played prevent.
