I'm not seeing it. There are several starter quality players who will get more than Portland can offer - but there is a significant drop off after that. I don't see many on the list who I would consider a major upgrade over the bench Portland already has.
Right about now Boris Diaw who won a championship with Nico in France and Patty Mills are looking pretty good to me. I like Leandro Barbosa a whole lot as well as Chaning Frye..I'll pass on Steve Blake though.
If Barbosa is healthy I wouldn't mind him. Just don't think he's the same player these days. At one point he was MONEY.
Loved watching Sergio while he was here. Do you think his shot and/or defense have improved to the point where he can hang in the NBA? Aldridge and he were very close too.
Barbosa? This isnt 2007. Kirk Hinrich and Ekpe Udoh were names mentioned by Amir Essahlan of ESPN that could be good fits. This team really needs some defensive additions. Bench offense was a problem but with Barton, McCollum and TRob having another big year of experience I think it'll be less of an issue next year. Some of the lesser players such as Udoh and Kirk could be available on 1 year deals which could keep the option of massive cap space available next summer if we end up wanting to change the starting lineup.
Sergio to Aldridge or TRob or Will for the jam would be at least 3 times a game. Remember when we led the league in lob dunks? And it would get Aldridge closer to the basket.
I think Adding Hinrich would be make a huge difference. As a matter of fact I think he should be are #1 target.
Jordan Hill would be a very good addition and easily better than any big off the bench we have. He can play PF or C, would likely play well with LMA --Lopez and even Trob. Likely could be had for MLE or probably less.
Hawes Paul Pierce Shane Battier Ariza Livingston Jermaine O'neal Elton Brand Oh, and Lebron James. PS. Looking down that list I didn't realize the Clippers had so many once-good but now worthless players on their roster.
