We all knew Bylsma was gone. I am shocked Shero was canned. He is good. Would love him as our GM. Heard the Caps could come calling.

It's a dumb move if it's only the GM. When your team blows a 3-1 series lead I don't see how that falls on the GM but the coach gets to stick around. Not to mention it would make more sense to fire them both and then let the new GM hire his own coach.

personal opinion that if Orpik was healthy, nobody is fired and Pittsburgh is in the ECF

Bylsma was not fired and the new GM will decide his fate. (Penguins)

I said from the start Orpik was huge for them. Their only physical dman.

And I agree Mess. Talent was not the issue there. Wrong guy got fired today IMO.

And this could be bad for Bylsma anyway. Now he can't get another job quickly, and odds are he gets fired anyway when the new GM comes in, unless it is someone with ties to Bylsma.

I was thinking the same thing. Orpik would have been huge for the pens, but injuries are part of the game.
