Nuestra Cocina is bomb. Not really sure how "mexican" it is though. Never heard of durty sanchez' in Tigard.
FUCK THIS SHIT THERE IS ONE PLACE WITHIN A 6 HOUR DRIVE im going to boston to work that boston calling show next weekend, might have to hit up #44 el sarape theres a greasy place in the financial district called el triunfu thats ok, but nothing even comes close to comparing to west coast shit fml
Houston doesn't have a lot of beauty and such, but it does have fantastic Mexican food. So this list is pretty flawed to only have one single place on it from Houston, IMO
My wife and I have been meaning to go to the spot in SD for a while now. It's supposed to be money. Just a long ass wait if you don't get there super early. I think we might go after the farmers market tomorrow morning.
Nuestra Cocina is the bomb. Love those spicy margaritas. Sanchez in Tigard is pretty good - my bro-in-law lives right there, so we stopped and tried it for the first time recently. La Pasadita in Chicago is good, too. La Taqueria in San Francisco is pretty dope. I stop by every time I go to SF, sometimes even every single day (I love Mexican food). But where is El Pollo Loco, ese?
Maybe it's just me, but I find some really incredible food at small hole-in-the-wall type places around here. To be sure, some are garbage, but others are mucho bueno.
Yeah, those are always the best. This is the place in San Diego that is on the list. This is my favorite spot in SD. It's only a 15 minute walk from my place. I've only had burritos here, but they are sooo good. The Carne Asada has nothing but meat and guac. No rice/bean filler. And only 4 bucks.
Yeah. It's pretty close to downtown, so I think a lot of people drive there for lunch. I think we are trying to make it there before 10 tomorrow morning before the lunch rush.
Boy, I'll say. I've eaten a couple dozen Mexican meals at different Houston restaurants at varying price points, and the absolute worst Mexican food I had down there was drastically better than anything I've had in Oregon. Admittedly, I haven't tried some of the more expensive restaurants in Portland, but still...
Want good Mexican, go to the barrio: Luis;s Taqueria in Woodburn is a nice stop if you are doing the tulip festival . . . or crave some good mexican food. I agree that you find some of the best mexican in small hole in wall places . . . Hillsboro got a few of them.
I've gone to the woodenshoe tulip festival the past 2 years. It's beautiful! The weather was great this year when I went, clear skies meant a perfect view of mt hood.
