Got some injury updates to pass along, courtesy of Chad Jennings and Meredith Marakovits:

Carlos Beltran (elbow) received a second cortisone injection and will see Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion on Tuesday. The second opinion was apparently always scheduled, but the second injection indicates the first isn’t helping much. It’s looking more and more likely Beltran is heading for surgery.
Michael Pineda (shoulder) threw a 28-pitch bullpen session this afternoon as scheduled, and everything went fine. He will rest the next two days, then throw a 30-40 pitch bullpen session on Wednesday. Big Mike will start facing hitters after that, presumable in live batting practice or a simulated game.
Shawn Kelley (back) will play catch on Monday and Tuesday, throw a bullpen session on Wednesday, then make a minor league rehab appearance on Friday. He hopes to be activated off the 15-day DL and rejoin the team next Sunday.

What was the most powerful division in MLB, has turned into the NFL black and blue divison, with NO Monster's of the Midway, neither.....

I'll tell if Hammer stayed for the 2nd game he could have his pick of seats, It looks like half the crowd went home.

Perfect example why I get so pissed off with our idiot manager, he either leaves a guy in until the game is out of reach & he gives up 5 or 6 runs or he takes the pitcher out to early. In this case Nuno threw only 80 pitchers after only 6 innings. He brings in Aceves & B O O M!! we're down 4-3. Great move genius.

Just a long day Rick. I remember around 1995 staying for two games against the White Sox in which the Yankees got swept. That was an aggravating day. The attendance was the exact opposite where there was seriously maybe a few hundred in the stadium for game one.

Damn if only Solarte got that one in the air it would've been a 5-4 Yankees lead.

A sweep would have been nice but the Yankees get the series. Cole is a tough pitcher, Nuno pitched a nice game today, another kid I've been pulling for. The pen and O came up short. God damn ex Yankees Stewart gets the final Buc RBI and Melancon closes it out.
