Prust says that Kreider did it “accidentally on purpose” and didn’t make much of an effort to stop. (Tom Gulitti)

Prust says that Kreider should know how to fall and not lead with his skates, adding that he did the same thing to Marc-Andre Fleury in the last round. Prust says that there was no effort to lighten up or avoid Price. ((ESPN NY).

Peter Budaj says that Kreider has been running goalies all playoffs. (Chris Johnston)

In the second period, skating at full speed, Chris Kreider skated into Carey Price and Price was seen on the ice holding his leg before getting up, skating and playing the rest of the second period. Price, with the score 4-1, did not play the third period and Michel Therrien said after the game it wasn’t because of injury and that it was more to protect Price since his teammates weren’t sharp. Therrien added that he thought it was an accident. (NHL)

Kreider said that he lost his footing and wasn’t trying to run into Price. (NY Post)

Former teammate Brandon Prust cross checked Kreider, slashed him and got in his face at various points. (TSN) Prust was called for a penalty for the slash. (TSN)

PK Subban and Mike Weaver also think that Kreider didn’t skate into Price on purpose. (ESPN)

Renaud Lavoie tweeted yesterday evening, “Canadiens players thinks that Chris Kreider fell on Carey Price on purpose. Rangers think he’s injured. Habs are saying no.”

Jeff O’Neil said that he believes there is something wrong with Carey Price and that what Kreider did should force Montreal to play with some passion. (TSN)

Darren Dreger pointed out that Kreider understands what it means to go to the net but that he also has a history with goalies and hurt Craig Anderson last season. (TSN)

Going to be interesting to see if Price plays, I bet he will, and if the Habs run Hank a little as payback. Might give them some extra motivation as well.

If Kreider was on the Habs and did that to Hank this board would be flipping out...BIG TIME.

Price was only on ice for like 5 minutes this AM with their goalie coach...we'll see.

Interesting that no one jumped kreider right after it happened. Perhaps if the guy wasnt being tugged and slashed he wouldnt have rammed into your precious price. Hank gets bowled over all the time. Teams arent used to getting it back in their goalies face by a ranger team.
As far as prior series, kreider was croaschecked into the goalie had a goal taken away and received a penalty.

Cry me a river prust you want to stick up for your teammate drop the gloves not this spearing shit to the nuts.

I don't disagree Al, especially on the Prust stuff, but the fact remains this board would be going CRAZY if that happened to Hank. We would be killing the refs in here (Kreider did not get a penalty).

And it is also true that Kreider has a history with running into goalies, intentional or not.

Now I think that is due to the fact that he plays hard and attacks the net with big speed, and none of it is intentional, but it has happened a few times with Kreider.

We'll see if Price plays, and if it affects how the Habs play at all, and how they treat Hank.

If Price misses HUGE edge for us, but I think he'll play.

I dont disagree if it happened against us this board would have a melt down....but it does seem to happen alot to hank and nothing. Malkin's interference is a prime example.

I hear you Al, but the banging and pushing happens to every goalie in every series. It is rare you see players flying at just about full speed into goalies though. Has happened 2 or 3 times with Kreider in just 5 playoff games.

Anyway, we are where we are. We'll see if Price plays, but more importantly if he is 100%. I think he will play because he stayed in yesterday and played, if he was hurt badly I very seriously doubt he stays in, but will he be mobile and 100%? That is the unknown question to me. And even if he does play and isn't the same, that is a big edge for us.

    Check him?

The Kreider thing is being played up. It will be played up big in Montreal. How this stuff works. Started as nothing major. No penalty. The guys doing the game didn't give it a second thought. After the game Subban, their coach, a few other players on their team said clean. BUT as you watch more and more and their grit players get asked more, and Price is maybe questionable for tomorrow, the media will blow it up.

So something that started as a clean hockey play has taken a life of its own, and now is a big controversy. That was my point here. We'll see if that fires them up, and if it affects how they treat Hank.

If Prust wants to drop the gloves with Kreider, let him. Prust will get Crushed. The only thing to worry about is Kreider's hand. Other than that, go for it.

Right, after the game yesterday Therrien and Subban and Gallagher and Weaver all said clean. You sleep on it. You hear the media. You hear the "grit" players on the team all talk, and the next day it becomes maybe a dirty hit. Accidentally on purpose as Prust said. How it works in the playoffs. Is what it is. Things get built up and take on a life of their own.

Our guys just need to keep Hank extra clean going forward.

This is exactly what it is, this is a misdirection ploy to cast the light away from the fact Montreal got absolutely housed in game one. So let them bitch and moan and change their opinions daily, we go out and take game two, whats their excuse then.

I don't even care and the best part of this Rangers team is they don't let this type of nonsense bother them. Montreal knows they need to win tomorrow night or there's going to be a meltdown in the city.

You guys are both right. All about getting them focused and motivated. All this is. Funny stuff though. We'll see how Price looks tomorrow night. Out of all this BS, that is all that matters really.

You can always count on the NY Post for something cheesy. It's a really shitty tabloid but headlines is what gets people talking/reading.
