Has made $160,000,000 in the majors. Not a bad haul.

I think he has been pretty good in a part time spot.

"________" ditto: me 3..... For a 40 year old, I'd say he's done a damn fine job. Not many 40 year old players, can start for most Teams.

Yeah Art, you're kind of surprising me too on this. What about a 40 year old hitting over 360 bothers you so much?

The man can still boogie down the base paths, still a damn good defensive outfielder, still can get that timely hit. If the game is tight put him in right!

Amen, I don't think any player Ichiro's age is capable of doing what he is doing. Game analysts have noted several times this year alone, Ichiro is in better physical shape than most young players.

The way he's playing, I'd be tempted to extend his contract by 2 years. If the Yanks don't, I'm sure other teams will want The Wizard...!

...^^^if the Yanx could somehow win it all this year, it would not only be a great sendoff for Jeter but Ichiro as well. They both deserve it and are two of the best and classiest players I've ever seen play...hard not to like them, whether you're a Yanx fan or not.

...he's already in the HOF...what's he need 3000 hits for?...I'd be willing to bet that if he were to finally win a WS, he'd take his ring and ride off into the sunset.

You could be right Ron. He really doesn't seem the type that looks at final numbers.

...then again, he loves the game and may want to keep playing, who knows? But if he does, I wonder where he'd go?...Stay with the Yanx?...Go somewhere else?...hell, maybe go back home to finish his career either in Seattle or Japan?

^^^kinda makes you wonder what he might have done if he had played his entire career here...we might be talking about one of the greatest players ever. (which he already is, IMO)

No doubt. Would have liked to see him play 3B too.

    Ditto that: "_________"

A rifle/cannon arm, 2nd only to the legend Roberto Clemente. Runner's still think twice on taking the extra base on the old man. Old? but in better overall shape, & playing prowess than men half his age....Great Accurate Strong Arm, Greater Bat....

I doubt we will see a pure hitter as great as Ichiro was in our liftetime. I serioulsy doubt anyone is going to break his Single Season Hit Record.

Even Godzilla (the Movie one, not Matsui) isn't even as BIG as Ichiro-san back home...!!!

Only 1 of 2 players to win the coveted MVP and ROY in the same year....now that's impressive in its own respect. I'd pay to go see Ichiro alone......
