If anyone wants to see pics, let me know. I don't know if I want to post them all publicly, but I can private message or e-mail them if you are interested... lemme know and if I don't have your e-mail addy, let me know too.
Had you attended games at the old stadium what differences did you like about the current unit from a fans standpoint. Saw
Yes, I'd been to quite a few at the "old" stadium and it had a magical feeling that the new one still doesn't quite have... it's hard to quantify that feeling though... The new stadium though aside from above is a much nicer stadium IMO... it has a much more open feeling. We have only sat in the bleachers in the new stadium so far, but the concourse is much more wide open and more accessible. It looks (from what I'm told) like a blend of the original Yankee Stadium, the "old" stadium, and modern facilities. It seems to have more seating closer to the field than the upper levels, but that is more of a feeling and I don't know if that's true. The "old" stadium had a more vertical feeling...
I haven't been to the new stadium yet but the bleachers in the old stadium were way to steep. If you stood up you just felt like if someone bumped into you you were were going down a half dozen rows.
I didn't feel that way in the old bleachers, but definitely felt that way in the old upper deck... We were section 202 which is one over (closer to CF) from where the bleacher creatures reside. The kids were enamored over the roll call...
I'm sorry Steve that's what I meant, the upper deck. As long as you were sitting down you were okay but standing up was like looking down at the grand canyon.
When going to games at the old stadium I always tried to get tickets at 2d level along the first base line. There was a sports bar across the street that had awesome Roast Beef Sandwiches. I'd buy one, get a pretzel, go in the stadium for my coke, always made sure I was on time to watch batting practice. Loved kick dancing with the fans to New York, New York when the game was over. Pretty awesome.
The best part of the new Stadium is that's there's much more room to get around and there's all kinds of different food everywhere.. The rest rooms are also huge so you're not waiting in line like in the old place.
Yes... speaking of rest rooms... My boys had to go to the bathroom at one point and I figured I'd try as well, so the 3 of us all standing in our jerseys next to each other at the urinals doing our business (me in my Ruth jersey and the boys both in Jeter jerseys) and some random guy says it's a shame we don't have a camera as that's a really cute picture... Didn't know what to make of that...
I would LOVE to see the Pics you took Steve..... I will PM you my email addy....if its no problem for you to send the pics....I'd greatly appreciate it, plus they make good screensaver pics too, (if you don't mind). Yep, they'll look great alongside Ron's Monster Okra Plant.
Apparently I needed to resend as I had copied the e-mail address incorrectly... 2 e-mails... one are from my camera in my phone, the second are from the actual camera...
All depends on the delivery to judge intent...cute probably wasn't the best choice of words. I would of said, cute? Were pissing on an ARod jersey, this is awesome!
I guess... Heather actually thought it would've been kinda cute after you get over the weirdness aspect... And I actually have an A-Rod jersey... unfortunately... 13 is my lucky number... so I got it... oh well
No harm no foul intended....#13 has always been my lucky number as well. The one and only number I wore from Little League-thru American Legion ball. #13-the one constant in my life....well, we know the Yanks won't be retiring Alex's Jersey, which leaves a future great, to replace Alex's number, with a new face. Hopefully a future HOF'er too.
Here's an idea, if the jersey has just the # on it with no name you could tell people that Mike Pagliarulo was your favorite player when you were a kid.
