Its confirmed that Wayne Tinkle former Montana coach is going to OSU. His very talented son Tres is most likely coming with him if he doesn't choose Gonzaga.

Good hire. Hard nose guy who doesn't take shit.

If this is the same coach Montana had who completely and thoroughly outprepared his team and outcoached Craig Robinson in a game I went to a few years ago, I couldn't be happier. That Montana team did not have the talent OSU had (which admittedly still wasn't much) but simply made the Beavers look silly. When I ran into a buddy on the way out I literally told him that OSU was missing a coach and a point guard, and I wished we had the Montana coach. I have not forgotten that game simply because I hadn't seen a team that well coached play in Gill Colliseum since Ralph Miller retired.

    Plus he's not $amon, so there's that.

I know Tinks via Missoula. He's a personable guy with a great work ethic. His son Tres likely will be transferring to a HS in Oregon for his senior year. He was the Montana POY last year, and has offers from Gonzaga and Utah, with more to come after AAU ball this summer. He's a legit 6'7" with hops and handles. He should be a solid Pac 12 player.

I'm happy about the hire. He is a really good coach. You can't say that about anyone osu has had on the sidelines since Ralph miller

I am thrilled to hear this. I'm a slightly worried about his son being coached by his father. But it sounds like both are great, so I will assume they can both be professional. =] GO Beavers!!

He also played professionally overseas for 12 years. He's not a skinny 6'10", either.
