As they seem like they are on the way to losing 4 in a row I believe I have had it with this high powered offense. Ellsbury can't hit a beach ball at the moment and Tex seems to be the only batter able to drive in a run or two. With the state of the pitching I do not see this team going very far unless the offense picks up and they get some help because you know Beltran will be having surgery soon.

Also time to get a reliever and a starter or kiss the season goodbye.

Sorry for the rant just getting very frustrated.

Well its not the HR or bust high-powdered offense anymore. Just the high LOB, low RISP %age no HR version.

"On any given Sunday, a bad team can beat another, regardless of greatness"...

Wait a minute, this isn't Sunday.

Team is giving up 4.5 R/GM. That's fine if they were producing 5.5 R/GM, currently producing 4.3 R/GM.

AL East standings are puzzling, no team has a winning home record (Yanks 11-11), but all winning road records except TB. Jays tied for first, that's what a 7-3 run does for you in a .500 division.

Then again, only 4 NL teams with more run production than the Yanks.

I know its still early but, with the division as it is it seems like the first team that can manage to run off any kind of a winning streak (6-7 games) is going to win the division.

A play on Graig Nettles quote "on any given day one major league team can beat another"? Even the might Tigers got swept by the Indians. Still one scratches his head watching all this talent that is still sputtering 1/4 of the way through the season.

Yep, good catch Michael. Nettles was no doubt my all time Favorite Yankee 3rd bagger. He played Thunder Alley as good as anyone! A human highlight film, Nettles was, in the spirit of the great Brooks.....!!! I liked Red Rolfe too, but he was aeons before my time.

I do have a 34 Goudey of Rolfe, tho' if that counts, LOL.

Actually Rick, any team in this Division that can win consistently AT HOME will win the division.

Hey, The (Ryan Express Astro's) will be World Champs in 2017, you heard it here first. Of course they need to join MLB, and quit playing Minor League Ball, in their current league.

Houston has a mega problem right now, in trying to put together a team. They've been throwing any and every Pitcher from the Minors out on the mound, leaving them out too long, and going thru their Minor and Major league Pitching rosters like these guys are disposable, and in lieu of pitching in a MLB game, its more like each Pitcher is simply trying out for the big club.

Give Nolan and his Son time, they've built it, and "they will come".

To reiterate, Houston World Champs in 2017, you heard it here first, and if I am wrong, I will walk ass backwards across the States. On top of that, I will concede to living in a cave the rest of my days, never to be heard from again.....bank on it, I'm not...!

2ndly- if Houston is not at least in the World Series in 2017, I will give away my majority stock in Cheetohs, to Ron and he can divide up the warehouse stock, amongst you.....NOT....!!!

Hell, I'll even try out for the team. First 60 year old Pitcher since Satchel Paige. In the spirit of Mike Boddicker, no MLB hitter, can hit my 35 mph fastball....!!!
