Watching what the Spurs are doing to OKC. Watching what the Spurs did to the Blazers. Makes me believe the Blazers are contenders, but the Spurs are just so much better right now than everyone in the league. I understand Ibaka is out for OKC and he helps their defense at the rim. But come on the Spurs are good man. Just good. No blowing up the Blazers because if the Blazers are to be blown up... Then OKC from the looks of things should be blown up as well. that brings up a whole different topic but damn. The Spurs are good. No hate on the Blazers for losing to the Spurs.
I don't disagree but I do have a concern. The Blazers success was so linked to LA simply playing out of his mind. Lillard was pretty consistently good. We need more consistent play from the supporting cast.
Every team that wants to be contenders need to learn to play with the discipline, the attention to detail and the determination this team plays with. If they can't, that's prob the reason they aren't a contender. If you are saying Portland is as good as anyone in the West not named the Spurs, I can get on board with that. They prob would have been in the WCF if they were playing anyone other than the Spurs.
I don't think they'll drop off too terribly, but there will be a drop off when Duncan/ginobli retires. Pop will retire with Duncan too most likely.
oh, they are going to be terrible when those 3 leave no doubt, and probably luck into the next timmy in the draft lotto that year
They are pleasure to watch. While I enjoy their unselfish offense, it is really their defense that has me awe.
It's sure making the whupping that Portland got by the Spurs not nearly as bad. And the difference between the 2014 Spurs/Thunder series and the 2012 Spurs/Thunder series is that the 2014 Spurs are kicking the shit out of the Thunder.
I don't think they will be terrible. They will continue to make good pickups and keep on winning. The Spurs will always good. There will never be a dropoff.
so question. What Spurs team is better? The teams the Spurs had that would hold teams to 75 points in the early 2000's? or the current spurs?
