Better than looking at a roster and praying everyone reverts back to career year form because that's what's needed for this team to do anything.
For entertainment purposes it is what it is. Looking at reality is not giving up. You're not going to win without a pitching staff. Go ask the Rays about that.
...lmao...this is getting almost comical now...almost. ...fyi, the Rays have a very respectable team ERA of 3.96...and are only scoring 3.81 RPG...do the math.
They have been missing three of their starters and probably their best is out for the season. Lucky for them they have a veteran in Bedard who has been pitching out of his ass as well as a reliever Mcgee who has been ridiculous.
...I'm well aware of that, but it still contradicts your pointing to poor pitching as the reason they are losing ...they're not scoring runs...and neither are the Yanx. Out of 47 games played, they have scored 4 runs or less in 30 of those games. ...could the pitching be better?...certainly, but the offense has been abysmal...again, 15th in OBP.
Because over the course of the season it has been proven in MLB that you need pitching to win. That's why the 80s teams of the Yankees didn't win. The pitching just wasn't very good while the offense was very good. As for the offense I have tried to explain about the age of this roster to no avail. You expect guys to be better but again I don't know what you want out of aging guys like Jeter, Beltran and Soriano.
...wait, you need pitching to win?...stop the presses. ...you also need to score runs to win. ...last year the WS Champions Red Sox were 14th in team ERA (3.79) barely better than the Yanx (3.94) ... the difference for the Sox was not pitching, it was their offense...they led all of Baseball with 853 runs scored...(that's 203 more runs than the Yanx scored)...again, 203 more runs.
The Red Sox had a 2.59 ERA in the post season last year. If Lester and Lackey don't pitch the way they did you think the Red Sox win the World Series?
...wait, first you said "during the course of a season you need pitching to win"...now you're again shifting gears and pointing to the PS only? ...I've had enough of your jumping around and your cherry picking, and this inane thread.
You brought up the Red Sox and winning the world series so that's what I spoke about. It's a silly comparison anyway because the Red Sox lineup last years wipes their ass with what we're currently seeing from the Yankees.
...I only brought up last year's Red Sox because you first said, "Because over the course of the season it has been proven in MLB that you need pitching to win."...remember? ...I brought up the Sox as an example to show you how flawed your logic is/was. ...sorry to ruin things for you, but the Yanx came back and won...so you may return to being mute until they lose again.
Wow, where is the popcorn eating smiley? Don't think the messiah is gonna get resurrected on this one.
...^^^ just to add to your earlier post about the AL East, there's only 1 team with a winning home record and only 1 team with a losing road record...kinda odd.
I'm here creating game threads and chatting about every fucking game they play. Also, watched them win today's game as well. Take that mute comment and kindly shove it up your ass.
...lol, of course you are, of course you are. You're loaded with compliments for this franchise. ...sorry if you're upset because I kept countering your pretzel logic. ...take that shove it up your ass comment and kindly shove it up your ass.
You're right. I haven't started a game thread on this board for just about every game they have played since the middle of last year. Go talk down to somebody else on this board with your mute and babbling comments. Not going to work with me. So yes you can stick it up your ass sideways.
...I don't need anyone else, at the moment, I'm having fun talking down to you. ...and actually it does appear to be working. Again, you're just upset because I countered your flawed logic.
I'm sorry reality is flawed logic in your slow working old brain. Keep hoping CC will be coming back and returning to ace form, Jeter will be jump throwing the Yankees back to greatness or whatever other bullshit fantasies you have cooked up to blind yourself from the shit job Cashman has done with this roster.
