If this happens it's proof that the Sterlings are racist. Seattle is the whitest city without a NBA franchise.

This is awesome. I'd like to see Seattle have a team again. Sounds legit. Plus, it would be a good computer geek rivalry between Ballmer and Paul Allen.

I can't see the league or owners allowing a move to Seattle.

Seattle is just handed a contender? Lols. We'd still whip the I5 ass. This actually works as I already hate the clippers so the rivalry will be easy to rekindle.

I've been saying this would be a good move for a long time. Every franchise should have it's own venue and the Lakers will always be Los Angeles' team. California would be left with 3 franchises just like Texas.

Move that team out of LA and it'll lose a huge chunk of its value. Never gonna happen.

I think Balmer has enough money that he isn't that concerned about that if he plans to move them to Seattle.

Yeah, the Clippers aren't going anywhere. First their owner is a racist d-bag, then the team is sold and moved? Not going to happen.

Still seems unlikely. The estimated price tag for the Clippers is 1.2-2 billion, and the price tag for the Kings was 600 million-ish? that is a ginormous amount of money to just throw away. Granted the Kings roster is light years away from the Clippers.

On that note, hypothetically, would Balmer be able to retain and sell the territorial rights to a second LA franchise if he did move the team to Seattle? Just wondering.

Wouldn't this also increase the value of the Lakers?

I'd kind of trust the judgement of a guy who's got 20 billion dollars. Chances are he needs a tax write off. I disagree that Los Angeles is a good home for the Clippers. They were the worst destination for decades and the bus stop of the league. Only recently have they become a name brand in the NBA. Would you really think it's a good thing to share the Lakers arena? Have to cover all those championship banners while you have...zero?

The fans and franchise are victims of Sterling. For then fans to endure years of shit, then get to be contenders and then just lose it at the blink of an eye would suck. The NBA wants a feel good ending to this and moving them isn't that ending. You really think that CP3, BG, etc would want to pick up and move to Seattle? The only ones who would want it are laker and sonics fans. The league owners won't approve any relocation.

Its not like LA doesn't have any billionaires that would keep the team in LA.

I assume they wouldn't be the Clippers anymore. They'd be the Sonics. The Clippers would disappear.

But years and years of incredible Clipper sucking history would disappear also.

They were originally the San Diego Clippers and almost became the Anaheim Clippers so the fan base has adjusted before. Clipper Darrell is the real victim here but shit happens and money talks and maybe, just maybe Blake Griffin stops making KIA commercials

I like how the article says they would likely stay there, but he has ties to Seattle. They're staying in la come in. Paul Allen also has ties there and so far hasn't moved his team away to the from a much smaller market.
