Just saw the video on MLB, shocked to see that Gomes did not blind side anyone.

I understand the Red Sox are frustrated but stuff like that just makes the sport look bad.

It does, especially as bad as the Bosox are playing now....even worse. No amount of brawls can light a big enough bon fire under their asses to finish at .400 ball, (I hope).

Feed 'em to the gators next go round in Tampa, no one will miss the Sox team less the Beantown mob. Then again, glue beards on most replacement faces, and they'll never know their team was dinner for Floridian Gators. Ah gumbo.....

...just got home and saw the replay...what exactly was Boston's problem with Escobar stealing 3B?...It was still only the 7th inning and Boston is more than capable of scoring 5 runs in 2 innings.

...I guess this falls under one of those inane "unwritten rules"?...not surprised to see that Gomes was actually the one who escalated things...wasn't it him who blind-sided Shelly Duncan or someone during a freakin' ST game several years ago?

...Boston, here's a tip; If you don't want the other team to steal 3B and score any more runs, regardless of the score, don't let them reach first base. There's no "mercy rule" in MLB, you play the game out to its entirety.

There was a smart coach who had the person answer when asked about stuff like this. He said if the other team promises to not score anymore than so will we. That being said in this case their anger was ridiculous because yes it was only a 5 run lead. If it was 15-2 in the seventh ok I see their point.

AJ Piersznski started chirping after the base was stolen and that ignited the ruckus. I guess Gomes got tossed for being mouth but he didn't hit anyone, too big a crowd I guess. The video I saw was brief with comments interjected by MLB Staff. Probably get a better video on quick pitch or reading the game recap.

    ...exactly.

...and yeah, when I first read that there was a "brawl" and then saw AJ jawing with Molina, I figured that's where it started...then they showed Escobar jawing with Ross who was in the dugout...then Gomes comes flying in from LF.

...since I'm handing out tips for Boston, here's 2 more for Gomes and Ross. Both of you are marginal players at best and you're lucky to have jobs at all. And especially to Ross, if you really wanna help your team, stop trying to act like some kind of bad ass who hides behind the dugout screen, and instead try to improve on your abysmal offensive numbers. ...actually Gomes did rush in and push Escobar in kind of a cheap shot sort of way, which is what caused the benches to empty, and why he was ejected.

Gomes looked to me like he wanted to get a cheap shot in. Didn't do it but it was pretty pathetic.

The Red Sox and Rays seem to get into a lot of dust ups. Anyone remember when Gerald Williams punched out Pedro Martinez?

OK I did not see that move in the video that was shown first.

I can tell you from experience that the Red Sox and especially their fans are not well liked at Tropicana.

The final score was 8-5. What was the problem with the Rays trying to score as many runs as possible?

    ...lol...yeah, I remember that...pretty funny actually.

...not sure who looks silliest when trying to throw punches, Baseball players or Basketball players...both remind me of girls trying to fight.

...gotta believe most of it is frustration on Boston's part...if they were not facing losing their 10th game in a row, I doubt it would have happened.

Not that I'm encouraging brawls in MLB, to me they are a necessary part of the NHL.

My own favorite brawl, was of course, when Robin Ventura the young buck charged the Old Man of the mound, the King of Chin Music, Nolan Ryan, and Ventura had his face punched several times in Nolan's headlock, got taught a few pointers from the old man, like stay the f'k in the batters box....or the old man will whip your ass....

Cool, thank you, saw the quick pitch video earlier better than the 1st I saw but this one is 100 per cent clear. Gomes is quite the man from behind, looked like they had quite the crowd over there yesterday rooting for the local team.
