It just tells me neither are real sports.

 

Take it you've never seen a smaller guy kick the a$$ of a big guy! It's not the size of the dog in the fight..

 

I've seen a guy with a beer belly make $50 million in baseball... that's enough to make me want to say it's not a sport.

As for hockey? It's all equipment and YMCA jocks.

 

Baseball is more a "technician" sport, like golf. Hockey is a true sport.

 

The thing with golf is the ball doesn't move. Baseball you got hit a 80-100 MPH ball that may just decide to drop off the table or curve into or away from you at any time. Also, playing the infield means you need quick reactions and decision making.

There may be some over weight pro baseball players, but then again Felton continues to make millions of dollars playing basketball year after year.

Never really heard baseball referred to as not a sport . . . interesting take.

 

I've always referred to it as a game.

 

I've seen a 66 VW and a 1989 Dodge Minivan beat V8 musclecars in a drag race. Yet I wouldn't say 89 minivans are going to win very often. The small guy beating up a big guy farce is a thing that happens but only small guys like to take that as gospel.

Interesting that both the bigger sports are dominated by black athletes. I don't think black people are on average taller than white people? Maybe black people keep their superior athleticism when they get taller unlike most white people who seem to get clumsier.

 

Yeah, any sport where someone knocks you into walls and glass while you have knife blades on your shoes can keep its title of sport. I just hate it, still a sport.

 

I've heard it said that hitting a baseball is the most difficult single task in sports. As a non-baseball player, I believe it.

 

Hitting a 95mph fastball is hard enough, but it's expecting that 95mph pitch and getting instead getting a 55mph curve that is probably harder than anything else in sports.

Serious question because to me they are all games.

 

Baseball. I'll begrudgingly call Hockey a sport because all those guys are concussed and quick to anger.

It's all basically a George Carlin routine anyway.

 

And say what you want about baseball . . . Torii Hunter is a serious athlete.

I don't know. Every time I listen to a TNT broadcast with Marv Albert and he's calling a Thunder or Heat game. Both Durant and LJB seem to grow throughout the game. first they're 6"9, then they grow to 6"11. then he says they're a legit 7ft. then it's over 7ft. I was expecting him one time to go to compare Durant or LBJ to Yao in terms of height.

I'm curious to know the averages of the height players are listed at against how tall they actually are. T-rob came in listed as 6"9 I believe? Yet he's nowhere close to 6"9.

 

The graph is for the 2013-14 season, but Muggsy Bogues and Spud Webb would indeed be off those charts!
