Do we really need a backup shooting guard

We need someone off the bench that can score.

Do you think he's a better score of the bench than CJ McCollum

Tough question to answer being that CJ didn't really show much this past season. If the Blazers are really going to try CJ at PG though maybe they could find a little time for Marrow?:dunno:

Morrow is a spot up shooter and that's it. Can't get his own shot.
Takes more than being able to hit the 3 to be someone who can score.

A worse version of Wright. No thanks.

Here is the description for him:

Outstanding three-point shooter... One of the best in the league... Nice mid-range jumper... Decent rebounder for his position... Poor ballhandling skills.

I really want better ball handlers on this team.......I would prefer CJ as our SG

McCollum isn't exactly known for his handles. The few times he ran the point this year, the defense was hounding him, and he struggled with the pressure.

He's a rookie. He has better ballhandling skills than Lillard. (yes I said it). All video points to this.

That's why I said SG. I don't think he is a PG at all, but for a SG his handles are pretty good. Better than Wes......I think there is a big difference between PG handles and SG handles.
CJ would be above average for a SG and well below average for a PG. IMO.

We'll have to disagree on this one.

CJ's problem is he is the size of a PG, though. As a SG, he's a huge liability on defense, and his dribbling makes me cringe unless he's making a half-court drive off of a pass. He can't be trusted to bring the ball up the court, or initiate an offense, IMO.

I agree. CJ is a good ball handler for a SG. At worst CJ will be a better Mo

CJ will be an NBA All-Star? I'll take money on that bet right now.

Is CJ bigger than Mo? Seems like it. Still small for a SG I agree but he'll be a better defender than Mo (I think). Stotts ran that Lillard Mo backcourt last season until I wanted to shoot myself. With more experience I'm hopeful a Lillard CJ pairing will be better if Stotts insists on running it. (Hey there's always hope LOL.)

Ha ha. Not quite what I meant. :)

(Mo wasn't and all star in Portland and I doubt he'll be one next year either.)

The "at worst" qualifier is what caught my eye. Mo Williams isn't a bad NBA player, and CJ has a long way to go before I can even say he's had close to the impact in the NBA as Mo Williams. If the plan is to replace Mo's minutes with CJ, I'd actually feel better about it if Barton got those minutes over CJ. I just don't trust McCollum, and don't see that his skill-set is anything other than average in the NBA for a PG/SG combo.
