1. AV ( Sather's best move ) 2. Talbot 3. Kline/ Diaz ( no more Del Zotto, ! ) 4.Marty ST. Louis ( a winner ) 5. Dominic Moore ( the bigger the game the better) You combine these moves with the maturation of our homegrown players and all backstopped by the King, is the reasons where knocking on the door. The Rangers organization has been on the upswing for the last 5 years or so. The tinkering done during this past summer could payoff with a Stanley Cup. Our work ethic has been second to none these last 5 years. Lets hope the boys can bring the cup to NYC. Congrats to Glen Sather and all management throughout the whole organization. Lets go Rangers
1. Not ready to give Sather all these props for hiring AV, who was the best known coach available. This is not some kind of great find but rather the common sense move. 2. Not sure why Talbot is a key acquisition. He's a backup and was already in the system 3. Agree 4. Agree, but since MSL only wanted to come to NY, anyone could have made that trade 5. Agree
Remember that Messier wanted the job badly. It would have been very tempting for Glen to tap Mark, given he's known him since he was a teenager and they have been very close over the years. And of course given Mess' stature at MSG and the fact that Dolan would have signed off, it must have been a very difficult phone call for Sather to make. Yeah, Talbot was a call-up, but again, not easy to part with Biron who always had the respect of his teammates ( but he really did have to go )
