Pedro was a total pussy & Rameriz keeping that bat in his hand after Clemens RIGHTFULLY threw at him was also bush. Look, I honestly believe that much of this needs to be handled like they do in basketball. In basketball if you leave the bench during an altercation you get fined. In baseball IMO any player who leaves the dugout OR the bullpen during an altercation should be fined. This way you keep in on the field & avoid a 50 player brawl. JMO.

...yeah, but the thing is, what if players from the other side come out of the dugout anyway...you can't just sit in your own dugout and watch one of your guys get the shit beat out of him and say to yourself, "Fuck it, I'm staying here because I don't wanna get fined/suspended"....you gotta have your team mates' backs... and personally, I'd much rather do that and then gladly pay the fine.

...not sure, but I think part of the reason they have that leaving the bench rule in basketball is because the fans are in such close proximity to the players, when other players leave the bench and get involved, it sometimes spills over into the crowd.

Injury-plagued teams can't afford to lose warm bodies to suspensions, now they truly are snake bit.

Okay Ron good point so alright, dugouts are one thing but pitchers coming in from the bullpen. Bullshit. Unless you're actually in the line up your ass is getting fined if you step on that field. How about that?

Why do we need more rules? There are already consequences, they can use replay to get all the bad actors in the brouhaha, hand out fines/suspensions. These things are pretty infrequent as it is.

Explain to me the knee-jerk response to immediately want to impose more rules and controls?

No big deal, during an on field altercation if you leave the BULLPEN you get fined. Its 20 less players on the field & lets face it, a pitcher is the last one you want to see get hurt. I'd vote for such a rule in a heartbeat.

Again, these things are so infrequent. A fine isn't going to stop a symbol of team unity...you aren't thinking from locker room perspective. You are speaking like a nanny control freak.

Here, let me make this REAL simple, EXAMPLE: An altercation breaks out on the field, the bullpen coach says...S T A Y ! no fines, no possible injuries to the pitches & like I said 20-22 less players on the field. What you refer to as nanny control could better be called a pre-emptive strike to avoid any unnecessary injuries to the pitchers. regardless of how infrequent it happens.

You aren't putting yourself in the moment and the mindset of the guys in the pen. The want to support their team, show solidarity and be involved. You go be the guy that doesn't get off the bench or leave the pen...see how well your team mates treat you the next day.

Right or wrong, team mates back each other up. No rule can change that. Stop thinking like Blomberg.

I said nothing about the benches. You just don't need pitchers running in from the bullpen. End of story. But just to show I'm a fair guy, why don't we just both agree that I have the more valid point. Great! Geez I thought that would never get solved. You're alright Tom.

Amen, and my kind of Pitcher too, I guess one could say Mr. Price made Shrek pay the Price.....debts are due, time to collect....!!!
I wish they would both just beat the hell out of each other, til both Teams are on the DL for the remainder of the year.

Papiwhiner, wasn't he the Bull Mascot in the Bull Durham movie (clip posted yesterday), who was knocked out cold with a intentional wild pitch, while he stood behind home plate, during the game in progress, trying to pick up on women? Sure looked like Papiwhiner-Shrek without the Bull Outfit....

Getting tired of the stupid ass shit between those two teams. That being said the idiot Red Sox forget their antics with Arod last year for example and like to walk around like they're above it all. That's why the Yankees annoyed a lot of us for years by allowing a lot of their players to be hit with no response and by also almost being afraid to come inside on Ortiz.

    1- **Amen
    and
    2- ** Amen

"Can I get a hot tub"...!

The AL only, needs to create only 1 new rule, just 1. For Bosox/Rays games. Fighting/Brawling must happen during each game. No players injured are allowed on the DL. Any game ending after the 5th in a tie, must go down as a loss for both teams, no ties. NO TIES for the standings/or on the bus. Make 'em ride retired old school buses to with no air conditioning, just little fans in front of the bus driver.

Treat 'em like the prima donna school girls they are.....:cowboy::deadhorse:

Either that or warn BOTH benches before the game even starts.
