Yankee headlines these days are about the injured
ballplayers. God knows this team is not making
    any headlines.

Who wants to keep hearing about the Mark Teixeira's
day to day medical statements? :rolleyes3:

You would figure a guy who basically missed a season and head surgery wouldn't be dealing with this going into June. This looks like needing to be shut down for a month.

One more week and K. Morales will be a Yankee and now Pineda is shut down so I would think they would have to think about taking for a starter no?

Montero for Pineda appeared to be a good trade initially. Especially in light of Montero's sloppy over weight showing up to ST, out of shape, WAY out of shape.
Montero turned out to be a flop, even after Montero was given a 1 million dollar signing bonus as a 16 year old Catcher in Venezuela, hailed as the next great Pan-Am Catcher.

Either the money blew his head up, or he had a lack of self discipline and work ethic to begin with. Now the trade appears fair, and equal. Neither can perform with any consistency without being on the DL, injured our out of shape.

With Pineda's previous surgery rehab problem(s).......and.....,
In light of Pineda's injury ridden past, I'd get him healthy and trade him faster than a counterfeit suitcase of fresh printed 100 dollar bills.

I can't help but think Pineda's problems go far beyond his arm and shoulder...perhaps the pine tar neck tattoo, damaged a nerve leading to his brain, or poisoned his blood, or created cancerous tattoos which look like Pine Tar, (but he didn't know it-his own words, yeah like someone smeared it there besides himself).... No habla anglais my butt....

Pineda early in the year, looked great....now he looks like he couldn't be moved if another team was paid to take him. Is he worth keeping, continuing to hope he will get healthy and stay healthy? Some would say yes. Based on his history alone, IMHO, he won't even be in the Majors this time in 2015, if he is, no way will he be a Major Leaguer by 2016. Yet, I'd love to be proven wrong. In fact I'd love nothing more than to see him win 20 games the next 5 years in a row. I'd bet on a camel to win the Kentucky Derby next year, before I wagered on Pineda becoming more than Lifetime Minor Leaguer, which is written all over him, or tattooed all over his neck.

The fact that he can't find the center of his head enough to wear his cap properly may not be a sign that the man is 2 cans short of a 6 pack but the pine tar thing confirmed that the porch light is on but nobody's home. I too am getting tired of this story line. And Rob I agree, the first sign that this guy is okay again trade his ass immediately. Because you just know that whether he comes back for two games or ten games that he's eventually going to go down again.

Teixiera, that's another story that's getting thin.

LMAO....you hit the Pineda raw nerve of mine, no offense at all Rick, ol' buddy. You recall my previous post sometime ago, when the pine tar incident occurred, how more upset I was with Pineda NOT wearing his hat proper, was a bigger deal to me than the use of pine tar, (not that the pine tar incident doesn't un-nerve me, it did and does).

tho' the sideways sloppy hat dress, utterly drives me up a wall....LOL, (at my self, and my vanities), over dress codes, or mere proper versus improper schools of playing ball. Dress codes in baseball to me are almost as important as playing the game fundamentally sound to begin with. At least in Little League where it all begins, such detail to ALL aspects of playing the game proper, is LL 101...but-

I know, I know, I will say it myself
, This Ain't LL anymore, and were not in Kansas anymore either....

I may be over critical, or to outspoken at times, but I have & never will lose the capacity to laugh at my own vanities, indescretions. I'll lose the capacity to NOT wet my pants before I lose my laughter....Yowza...! I don't believe I said that....more than I wanted to hear, from myself....

No I hear you Rob, as others here will attest to that stupid tilted had look drives me up the wall. Not only do I not get the significance of it but I just don't get why the manager doesn't correct the damn thing. I mean can you imagine if the boss were still around? He'd probably fine any player who didn't know how to wear a hat. Really, I wish someone ANYONE could explain what that damn idiotic look means. Any thugs out there? drop me a post. IGHT!, Ba-leed dat! Yo-Yo-Yo. wus-sup?

You know what blows my mind Rick....is you see these kids today, in public wearing a brand new 45$ New Era (fitted) MLB hat, not only more than tilted off to one side or the other. They keep the "bling" price tags on, Manufacturing labels, even the damn stickers on the brims...what's with that. Is it: they can't afford the gold bling rings & jewelry, so they keep the hat bling on the dang things. Think its a cool statement, (more of a look at me, I'm a fool and don't know it).

To each his own, yet, this fashion-less statement is ridiculous. Bozo dressed better.

Makes me wonder, IF it were acceptable to MLB rules, how many young MLB Pitchers would go out n the field, with all the price tags, mfg. tags, et al, still attached to their damn hats....

Yet, my grievances aren't limited to only proper attire on the ball field. As much its all about crappy attitudes, not be-fitting of a professional. Too many Pro's are passing very bad habits on to the kids of today, who are not just mere spectators....! Obviously some Pro's have forgotten WHO their audience is, WHO it is emulating them, and imitating their heroes.

If these players of today tried that crap in our younger era, there would be some players sitting on benches instead of taking the field. The fisticuffs, the berating of Umps, (I know there are a few instances where a player just can't help themselves, to argue with Umps, that's a given). These days, tho' I see it almost as common to argue a called 3rd strike, (while the batter keeps his bat on his shoulder watching the strike go by). Close pitch or not, what happened to the fundamental of "you have to protect the plate with 2 strikes on you, if its even close"?. I saw that yesterday in a game, and thought what the hell is this player teaching his fans? It's ok to berate an ump, cuz your to lazy to swing at a strike, when the player is to blame, for not protecting the plate. As much it teaches kids, no self-discipline, or control, and a lack of respect and ethics. It teaches kids, someone else is always at fault, for their own shortcomings. Always berate or argue, if your at fault. Never accept responsibility for one's own actions or lack of them.

The injury stuff just become tedious after a while. Tex misses pretty much all of last year and now you're listening to stories about how it's going to be on and off all year until this thing is right. Two years of the guy being useless to this team. He heats up and then is out of the lineup. Pineda on the other hand is just the classic head case and as soft as they come.

This rehashed news, over and over, is to reminiscent of turning on CNN daily for 2 months to hear the headline story's: "Idiots still looking for downed Malaysian Airliner, won't stop til the Bank is Broke, hoping to Find Passengers alive at the bottom of the ocean after all this time. Surviving Families don't care if they get back a hand, a big toe, or co-mingled body parts of another not their own kin".....

or, (insert redundant repetitive story line here____________). In this case, Tex, Pineda, CC,...... I hope this isn't going to drag on all year. I know I'm expressing the view of the majority of posters here, I believe....!
