I'll tell you, Doughty is a cocky MF'er.

"I'm frustrated, but I'm over it pretty quickly," Doughty said. "I know we got another game to play, Game 7. We've had two chances to close out this series, and we're not going to blow a third one."

"We've been in that spot a few times, and we know how to deal with it," Doughty said. "We're still a confident group. We know we lost tonight, but we're over it already. We're ready to move on and win a game in the United Center."

"We're fine," Doughty said. "We still feel we could have won this game tonight, and we know we can still beat this Chicago Blackhawks team. We also know it's not going to be easy. They're going to have their best game in this Game 7, especially in their home rink. We just got to reset, fly over there tomorrow and just be ready to win a hockey game."

And he takes a shot at Kane (who has taken over games 5 & 6 for the Hawks with 7 points):

"Last game he got four assists, but I didn't even think he dominated the game," Doughty said. "The stat sheet tells a different story than the actual game."

This makes me root for the Hawks even more.

Well this is what we wanted. LA and Chicago having to play another one tomorrow night to decide the series. Yes, please make it a triple overtime game. Just some stats for the three teams left.

Los Angeles 20GP 68 Goals and 56 Goals Against
Chicago 18GP 54 Goals and 50 Goals Against
New York 20GP 54 Goals and 45 Goals Against

Good results so far. Now in game 7 I want a 1 or 2 OT game where the blackhawks win but the kings physically beat the shit out of them. I'd rather play the blackhawks for the same reason i wanted the canadians. We do better against the skating team than the big physical pounding team like the kings. That being said from what I've seen so far neither team plays a lot of defense and neither goalie has looked that good. As for Jones he is a pathetic biased Jackass who I hope keeps rooting for whoever the rangers are playing all the way up to the march down the canyon of heroes.

What's funny is the Ranger success seems to annoy Jones while Millbury has been on board with it.

I think it's going to be New York vs Chicago. A third straight game seven might be too much for LA to overcome. While they can score a ton Quick is just giving up too many goals.

It is funny how things flip in sports. When it was 3-1 everyone was picking the Kings. Yesterday everyone picked the Kings. Now I haven't seen anyone pick the Kings in game 7. I would lean Hawks as well, but I would not be 1% surprised if the Kings won. They can win that game in Chicago.

This core Chicago team has 2 Cups Popadoc and numerous WCF trips. They are a great team. Doesn't mean Rangers can't beat them but I don't want to hear about our D advantages vs a team that has not only been thru the wars but has the Trophies as well.

LA is also a team that has been there and won that.

Don't get me wrong I know we have a shot but enough of this nonsense that the past 2 Cup winners are not great.

G7 is a total toss up game Chuck. Kings are resilient and can win in Chicago.

Agreed for sure Dis. That was my point. I can totally see the Kings winning that game 7...wouldn't surprise me one bit despite the fact that I give a slight lean towards the Hawks.

And as I have been saying, either way we are an underdog. Either way we are playing a great team. There is no real "better matchup" like I clearly thought there was against the Habs over the Bruins. BUT if I had to pick, I "rather" play the Hawks.

But I do think that series going to 7 is an advantage for us. Now even if the Kings win they went 7 games in every series, and had to travel back and forth to Chicago again. That is an advantage for us.

Rather play Hawks too only because of Crawford and agree an extra game is big for us. 2 days off for winner. 5 days off for Rangers. Maybe we can take Gm 1 because of that.

Rangers match up well against either team. And are also a better 5-5 team than LA or CHI

Dis, I never said anything about any past team. You and Chuck like to live in the past. You both like to bring up what a team has done and think you can predict the future off of the past. I look at only the playoffs we are in at the current time as the past. And the bottom line is, we have not only produced at the same pace but we have also allowed a lot fewer goals. Look at the #s Mess put together. Very telling.

As far as core players are concerned, you usually win championships with your non core players. Think of it this way. You expect your core guys to produce. And for the most part, they do. But the unknown is what are the guys that play 12 minutes or less a night going to give you. We are a perfect example this year. We have 3 lines that produce and on any give night you can call the 3rd line our 1st line and vice versa. But when the 4th line produces, then we are just about unbeatable. And during these playoffs, our 4th line is producing.

I don't disagree with anybody that says LA and Chicago teams of recent past were great teams. But I don't care about what they did in the past. Only what they are doing now. And by the #s, we can and will hang with whoever we play. And I would not be surprised if we pull off the upset and win it all. In fact, I don't think it would be as much of an upset as most around here think. Rangers in 6. I don't care who we play!!!

I don't think if the Rangers win it will considered an upset. I think three are better and hotter than LA or CHI right now

How do you assess a team Popodoc?

Hawks had 107 pts in regular season is that irrelevant?

Are we better then them because we beat Montreal in 6 vs Chicago and Kings going 7? Is that your basis?

I am stoked to play either while I don't think we should be favored I like our chances and it's awesome to be in the finals

But just curious...Why do you think we are better then both the Hawks and Kings?

It's all about who you think they matchup better against.

Agreed. But Popodoc doesn't believe in matchups as we have already discussed with him re: Bruins/Habs

The Hawks having 107 points in the regular season means absolutely nothing once the playoffs start. So yes, it is 100% irrelevant. When LA won a couple of years ago, they didn't even know if they were going to be in the playoffs until the last day. When our football Giants beat the 18-0 Pats, were we the better team? You tell me. Because the way I look at it is 13-7 was better than 18-1. I look at it as the Regular season goal is to play well enough to get to the playoffs. Nothing more. Then once you are in the playoffs everyone starts with a record of 0-0. All teams are equal again. I look at the playoffs as a grind to get to the next round. Each round is a goal. So during the entire season there are 5 goals. 1. get into the playoffs. 2. win round 1. 3. win round 2. 4. win round 3. and 5 win the Stanley Cup.

Only 1 team reaches all 5 goals every year. We have that chance. And I believe that no matter who we play, we are set up to win. We have 6 days off to heal minor aches and bruises. The other 2 teams are still beating each other up. I'm really not sure how the Hawks won either game 5 or 6 because they look tired to me. And think about all the travel LA would have to put in if we end up playing them. LA to Chicago and the LA to NY. It will wear them down.

I hate to say this because in the playoffs, the next game you play is the key game but Game 1 will be key for us. We will be rested and travel will not be a factor. Also, just like we capitalized on Montreal basking in their glory of beating the Bruins, we can steal Game 1 while whoever we play is still thinking about accomplishing their Goal #4.

what your missing(popodoc) is the fact that L.A. and Chicago have won 3 out of the last 4 cups, and have a chance to make it 4 out of 5. Do you think this happens because the regular season means nothing and everybody is equal once the playoff starts ? Don't think so. The Rangers will be going up against the cream of the crop as far as the NHL goes. If we win, it wil be quite an achievement for the Rangers. Lets go Rangers.
