I think the differences are that Bennett is a rookie, and lost all off season and early part of season to injury. They also play entirely different positions on teams i entirely different situations
I think the difference is that Bennett is a #1 overall pick on another team who you are defending, while "Leonar_" is a #11 pick by the Blazers who you are obsessed over to the point of caricature. Seems inconsistent to me to bash the better player who was drafted as a prospect, statistically, while offering excuses for the #1 overall pick who is going to be an all-time bust. FWIW - Leonard's Rookie stats, if you want to compare them. per 36 11/8 Ortg/Drtg 115/110 WS/48 +.096
Leonard is also an 80% FT shooter, which for a big is very good. Bennett is a 64% FT shooter, which for a tweener kind of stinks. I think I can actually make a decent argument that the #11 player in the 2012 draft was a better pick than the #1 pick in the 2013 draft. Throw in that Bennett was benched for 30 games this season, while Leonard played 69 games as a rookie, including 9 starts.
