Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell said Sunday that first baseman/outfielder Mike Carp has a fractured right foot, and while Farrell said only that Carp will be out for "a period of time," several reports have Carp headed to the disabled list. Carp underwent a CAT scan prior to Sunday's game that revealed the fracture. Farrell said that the injury was a result of taking an 83 mph curveball from Atlanta Braves reliever David Hale off his foot on Tuesday. Carp started both Friday's and Saturday's games against the Rays, but was not in the lineup Sunday, the Red Sox's seventh straight win.
