Some other kids made fun of me for reading. But in my family if you did not read you got made fun of. Any opinion was OK as long as we could back it up. And somehow I doubt the kids who make fun of readers get real far in life. I still am a big fan of public libraries. Instead of asking me or others to write their reading lists, anyone can go to the library and ask the librarian for recommendations on African-American cultural influences. Or marriage history. Or the science of sexual orientation. Or English grammar and writing style guides. I'm sure the librarian will be happy to help. As long as you don't call him/her a snotty bitch.
I usually have a book going all the time. Here is a list of a few that pop into my head right now from the last few years. Things that Matter Killing Jesus, Blue Latitudes Guns Germs and Steel Liberal Fascism Secrets of the Temple Strength Finder Did you find any these interesting?
You never read any of them? Well I confess, I read one of Maya Angelou books, I just didn't remember the authors name, kind a like half the books in the list above.
I have read some of them, MarAzul. Believe me, you are going to find it hard to catch me on charges of illiteracy.
